This wouldnt happen if game companies would take advantage of multi core and so we could actually have more than 1 player at a time on the PC. Screen space isnt that big of a deal when most high end PC users have large screens. We have these gaming PC's for a reason dont we?

 

Totally agree. If developers got their act together, they could easily put more split-screen into PC games.

I played through the whole of Left4Dead with my friend, split screen on my wide-screen monitor (which cost barely £110). It was great fun and worked perfectly.

Though it does raise the question - when it works so well, why don't Valve make it easier to access?

A lot of people say 'no-one would play it' which is BS IMO. All of my PC gamer mates have at least one controller (e.g. xbox360 for windows or PS2/3), and we don't exactly carry our rigs around on the train when we visit each other's houses.

 

Pure and simple... that way the devs can sell 2 copies. One for console, one for PC. One for split screen, one for multiplayer.
