I have Win 7 64 and a GTX 260 and i play TF2 quite a bit.... and since Nvidia has been almost pure crap with the latest drivers are there any suggestions for an older driver to try?

i have no issues with 195.62. everything runs great. but you might want to give 186.18 a try they where quite good with source games.

191.07, the newest ones have the option for "aspect ratio scaling" removed... again.

182.50 seem to the be least problamatic but aren't the fastest

185.85 are faster but I think there may be AF issues or something

186.82 is what I'm using currently and these seem to be some of the fastest and least problematic at the same time

186.91 seem similar to 186.82 also

Yup, I religiously use these for my GTX 285 SLI - no issues. Well, apart from Faith flickering in Mirror's Edge.

Nvidia drivers have been nothing close to "pure crap" for me. I am using the latest 195.81 beta drivers, they are working great. Nvidia drivers have been great for me ever since my first Geforce Ti4600 card many many years ago.

Well maybe you should give yourself an award. Plenty of users have problems with the last 6 months worth of Nvidia drivers. Great, you've not - be grateful for that.

For some of us, the nightmarish results these sets have led to have indeed earned, in said cases, the moniker of "pure crap" to apply to them.

I don't want to be using a set from half a year ago, but I have no option.

I'm using 195.62 and they give me nothing but problems. I mostly play L4D2 and it stutters like crazy at the start of a new map. I guess I'm going to have to try the old 186.82 like Roach suggested.
What happened to Nvidia drivers? Did they hire a bunch of the old ATI driver folks to develop for them?

what OS are you using? L4d and L4d2 had the multicore rendering bug. It was eventually patched in L4d, but not L4D2. causes horrible stuttering unless you disable multicore rendering in the advanced video options. I haven't had this issue since I upgraded to win 7 64 bit, but it was definitely there in XP.

I use Vista 64. I honestly never had an issue until I added the 2nd video card and updated the drivers.

186.82 and 186.91 have been the most stable and smooth drivers for me.

    Running W7 Ultimate x64 with a MSI 260GTX.

    186.82 or 182.50.

If it's not stable with ether of those two drivers. Your rig may have a issue/conflict. Try newer/older sound card drivers, check your PSU for enough power to supply the new stuff you upgraded to, do a memory test to see if a memory module is failing "Those are matching memory modules right?" Is the video card overheating?
