ATI Catalyst 912 Hotfix

Wow they have a hotfix for the 9.12 already,I am not going to try it.

So I installed the 9.12 Hotfix on my 5970 and surprise surprise: I stilldon't have fan control in CCC.
Any of you guys with 5970's can tell me how to enable the fan control on CCC??
I'm getting desperate =/

You will have to update the bios. I flashed to a updated Sapphire bios which ( I have xfx)worked.

Anyway nice hotfix, what 912 should have been. :nerd:

 

should we install 9.12 then the hotfix? or just the hotfix if going from 9.11?

 

It should be safe to go from 9.11 to 9.12 Hotfix as the hotfix is a full driver installation not like a semi-patch.

IF I flash my BIOS to the Sapphire one won't I lose the ability to use the XFX Overvolt tool?
Newbie question:

Do I need to go to DOS to flash the BIOS? Cause I don't even have a floppy drive for years lol.

You can install the hotfix by itsself.

 

Yes you need to make a dos boot cd then you can flash of c:/ drive or alternatively you could use a usb stick.

You wont be able to use xfx tool but instead you can then use the sapphire redline tool or the standard ati over volt tool. Their all the same just different image lol. They all suck so just use msi afterburner, even though you lose the memory overvolt option but it does not matter is it does not stick after reboot in those tools anyway.

 

hmm ok install hotfix shows all the right right driver version but still shows cat 9.11. also I noticed my second gpu goes to 0000 clocks and low fan speed when not in use...Is that normal?

 

lol these dont fix nothing, ati needs to hire a new driver team pref one that can do something ..
