the whole Pegatron thing has been in talks for more than a year. ASUS did say that it will split itself into three with ASUS as being the parent of the companies.

Probably nothing, they are their own company now.

How very stupid. They do well in the motherboard section.

    Seems stupid to pull out.
Ah well. We still have others around.

There are still going to be Asus motherboards. The arm of the company which manufacture them is just becoming a separate business entity.

Yup, just like AMD and GlobalFoundries. Only the manufacturing is being spun off.

Then who really cares? Unless reliability is affected.

exactly my thought lol... it shouldn't affect us end-users but it does create a small tremor for the business end.

Aside from the last replacement which I got (which I gave away to a friend) I've never had an Asus product that didn't die within a few months at most. I can't see how their quality could possibly get worse. I only buy Gigabyte motherboards now.

I've had plenty work fine. Although I find their lower end stuff a lot more un-reliable.

I've never had issues with replacements though either.

Always just depends on your luck I suppose.

Yeah, I've owned two gigabyte boards that have died on me, and three ASUS that are all running to this day. I've also owned tons of other companies and had various different experiences with them. I have friends who owned the same ASUS motherboards I bought and had issues with them. It really just comes down to luck.

    Misleading title did mislead me.

First I was like 'wtf, this must be a joke, terrible news'.

Then as I read my face switched to a 'what are you telling me?'

Now I'm just laughing myself at being worried.

So they split the company in smaller business = less risks, more chances for outsourcing if they mess up, less chances of messing things up, more unity inside the company...

    It's almost all advantadges.

By the way, why does some people dislike ASUS so much over here? :p

Hopefully the new MOBO division will have better support forums.

    I know what you mean.

It's mostly the blind leading the blind at ASUS support. Some of the answers given are just LOL

It's a wonder they can turn their PC on, yet they are on the forums dishing out "advice"...:3eyes:
