Greetings guys, a Friday morning thread please be nice (for North America anyway) I always though it would be great to move to germany, but at the same time knowning NOBODY from germany apart from through the internet I don't have a great idea what it's like over there Any of you guys live or lived in germany at some point ? and if so where and how was it. Did any of you guys grow up in germany ?
Spent some time there in the service, the Bavarian Alps is probably the most beautiful sight I've ever seen. pretty sure Cybermancer grew up in Germany.
i've heard good things about germany from people i know who've lived there. and also the nurburgring is open to public.
If you like a lot to play games, be prepared that the games you play might be censored. And no, I haven't lived in Germany.
Been there, done that XD But yeah would be pretty cool to have some more details from Cyber (thx pale)
Both my parents lived in Germany during their service in the Army. Although they were always around other Americans so I don't think they had many problems. They said it was nice though.
Germany for a holiday is fantastic, to live there I don't really think it would be for me. To die for food if you don't mind putting on some weight. The towns and cities are great to walk round if you like old buildings. Theme parks galore, they are every where and some are very good, I must of went to Heide park about 10 times and loved it( I was like 5-8 years old). The forests are huge and you can get lost, but if you're hell bent on going on a trek you'll love it. As much as I can remember the people are friendly, never had any problems. Germany is a great country, I lived there for the first 11 years of my life as my parents were in the forces.
My friend lived there for a year and will probs be going back again next year (army). He doesn't like it that much, he said they hate the English.
Makes me feel a kid again I wanna go lol, but man thats along drive from where I lived, look for Bergen Hohne, that's where I was based, Soltau is a foot step away compared to Stuttgart.
Of course. All Germans hate the English. :3eyes: Generalizations are a very dangerous thing, imo. Yup. Been living there for 30 years. What would you like to know, proFits?
Yeah, typical American haha. If you don't like the USA, move to a country thats closest to the USA (civilization wise) as possible... good one
Indeed, i don't believe that to be true at all. Im sure there are some over there that hate the English for the simple reason of hating the English, with no real reason, as there are in England (towards Germans) But i'm sure most people over there couldn't give a toss, like most English people.
I've never lived in Germany, but I did go for a 1-month visit there during summer 2005, and I really liked the country. Awesome pastry shops and ice-cream bars, and IT stuff was pretty cheap compared to Finland. The nature was very lush, and of course the language was a pleasure to hear. Damals war mein deutsch besser, aber ich denke dass ich mich verstanden machen könnte, wenn ich nach Deutschland jetzt gehen würde. Cybermancer: did I get that right?
Almost perfect. The 100% correct version is: :nerd: Damals war mein Deutsch besser, aber ich denke, dass ich mich verständlich machen könnte, würde ich jetzt nach Deutschland gehen.
