The Saboteur not working on my 5850

I've just tried The Saboteur and it's not working. I get into the game fine, but after few minutes it just freezes and i have to kill the process. Running 9.11 8.671-091104a-091527C-ATI. Anybody else having the same issue?

nope, working fine here on 5870 using Dirt 2 hotfix drivers.

 

It works, but it is very stuttery on my 5870. Not any fun to play.

 

Doesn't this game come out on Dec. 8th?

 

in the game saboteur, with my 2x 5870s im getting artifacts weird grey artifacts on distant object backgrounds.

what is with that ****, and im useing the dirt2 hotfix drivers.

 

Same here, freezes with 9.11 driver...

I'm having troubles with this too. I can play for about 5 mins before the screen freezes and starts shaking, then I have to alt-tab out and kill the process. Watching the temperatures for my card (Sapphire 4850 - stock speeds), the card appears to stop doing anything when the game freezes - as in it appears it's no longer processing any 3d stuff, despite the fact the game keeps working (I can move around and do stuff, and I can hear what's going on, just not see it).

I have tried with 9.10 and 9.11 official drivers.

I'm using Windows 7 Pro X64.

I have tried compatibility mode for Vista SP2 and XP SP3.

I have used the video settings the game recommends as well as setting my own, I have also tried running it at absolute lowest possible settings to no avail.

But when it does run, it appears to do so very smoothly and doesn't look half bad, I couldn't get AA to work - no in game options or forcing it in CCC.

 

Thats exactly what I get. Obviously ATI driver problem. I now officially hate ATI.

 

If you go to Documents > My Games > The Saboteur and open the config.ini file, and add "Windowed 1" to the bottom of the text, the game apparently no longer crashes. I tried it, but I pressed esc to open the menu and the game froze. This appears to happen every time. Also even though it's in a window, if the game loses focus - it crashes. Hooray!

 

here is a simple solution:
alt+tab out and back into the game.
for the record runs smoothly over here.

 

Not for me, alt+tab=freezing. I'm using Win7 64 bit with official 9.11+dirt 2 hotfix; so much stuttering, after 20-30 minutes game freezes. I'm so tired with ATI, still zero driver quality and support after these years (9550, 9600xt, 1900gt, 2900xt,...). If nothing changes on ati in 2010, I'll buy a nvidia card.

 

Same here with 9.11, W7 32bit. I just start play game and after 10 sec freeze or black screen, I can't play at all.

Using Official 9.11 drivers on XP game runs perfectly havn't tried it on Windows 7 yet i'll let ya know tommorow=)

 

I started in Win 7 64-bit and suffered the same symptoms as many others. The game locked up at the menu, etc, it was unplayable. Spent an hour this morning installing my trusty old copy of XP 32-bit along with the 9.11 drivers and the game runs just great now.

I would suggest they fire their QA team but EA beat us to the punch.

edit: oh, right, using a 4870 1GB right now. Profile is a tad outdated!

 

So does this game work with 9.10? Anyone else?

I don't want to buy a game if I can't get it working.

 

dont think so. only seem to work with xp.
