ask to your friend if maybe they will fix the resolution on a plasma tv 37"connected by HDMI that only show 1280x720 or less with all version of catalyst so far on WIN 7 X64( winxp 32 don't have this issue)

I don't understand why I keep getting "Failed to initialize display driver wrapper!" message whenever I try to launch Afterburner.

It works fine in another XP installation (another partition) but doesn't work after a fresh install...

I'm using latest drivers 9.10 and user has admin privileges.

I've already tried uninstalling drivers and Afterburner and also tried different driver versions, all to no avail.

Anyone can shed a light on this ?

Install driver properly. The message tells that atiadlxx.dll/atiadlxy.dll (for AMD hardware) or nvapi.dll (for NVIDIA hardware) is not installed or not funcitoning properly.

    unwinder thanks for the 1.4beta.

feedback for system Asus 4770 EAH Xfire, windows7 ultimate x64

Problem: maximum clock limits are 750 and 800 for core memory. ATI CCC limit is 830 and 850 respectively

    Checked both the graph on MSI and also on another run, within CCC display confirming the difference. {ie use MSI to set 829/840, and it maxes at 750/800}

[My cards can do 850/1000 without overvolting (using the other methods); think thats standard for most 4770s if thats any help. I think I read earlier future versions may act like amdgputool]

Problem is not a problem at all. Please spend a few seconds on reading the release notes. We WILL NOT provide overclocking beyond CC limits "out of box".

okay got it through google, although should have figured it out. What threw me was it the 'normal' clocks being lower than the 'normal' CCC clocks for these cards.

for anyone else in same situation:

have to disable UAC , and then with afterburner closed, edit the config file manually to toggle the required setting on (to 1 from zero)

thanks unwinder, this will save a lot of hassle
Later I will see if overvolting lets me get higher clocks

I ran the setup for both 9.10 and 9.9 driver only package and it didnt work.

Then I tried the 9.11 beta (uses a different installer) and it worked...

I wonder if I'll be able to use Afterburner with older drivers...

All drivers starting from 9.3 include these components, if you couldn't get it working - you have not instalkled driver properly (or used some lite "optimized" driver distributive). There cannot be any other reasons and I won't give more comments on it, sorry.

OK those were official drivers and there's no way I "couldnt get it working".
I guess there must be something special about Catalyst Install Manager included in 9.11 beta driver...

It turns out VISUAL C++ 2005 RUNTIME LIBRARIES was the culprit.
Afterburner happily worked after installing it.

    May I make a suggestion?

I want you to add a feature controlling 3 colors LED on 275 Lightning board.
I don't like "Lightning Afterburner" because it is very poor and something buggy.

If this my hope will come true, MSI Afterburner will become a must for me.

What do you mean by controlling the LEDs?

    <3 Afterburner but...
I still prefer to use Rivatuner at the moment. Here's why.

I use the the awesome Rivatuner GPU Monitor Vista Sidebar Gadget 2.1.
I wonder if Afterburner could have a similar gadget, or possibly be used in conjunction with it?

I can't see a way to "record" the monitoring with Afterburner. I am a bit dense sometimes, perhaps it's already possible..

Feel free to ignore my suggestion/comment. :p

Afterburner is seriously simplified in terms of hardware monitoring compating to RT. Both of mentioned features are currently available in RT only (and most likely it will stay so).

Not sure if this question has been posed already, but is it possible to increase the upper limitations of core/memory frequency on Nvidia cards on the Afterburner software?

I'm currently testing the GT 220 and 810MHz core is just not enough. As the Afterburner software is based on the Rivatuner code, for which adjusting the upper limitation was easy through the power user registry keys, I presume it's not impossible. But how to do so :)

the upper limit of Afterburner is defined by MSI depends on the capability of each card. it's safeguard design for every user, so the limitation can't be changed by users.

A friend of my has some troubles with unigine heaven demo/ directcompute benchmark.
Problem is if he launched the directcompute benchmark it says yes for support dc (dx11),but when he launched afterburner for the oc it says "no support for dc", dx10.1

Weird thing with the unigine demo is, that he average score the same fps with dx11 and dx10 bench with the same settings.
ALso when he run the bench in dx11, he don't see this in dx11
    example

    Where could the problem be?

Address the question to unigine benchmark developers please, not to us.

    Hmmm,

When he launched afterburner, he has no dx11 features in the 2 benchmarks.

    Whithout afterburner he has dx11.
