Hey guys thought i should make a thread for the most bang per buck gpu of the year :)

Please share your thoughts, experiences or benchs :)

    Questions are also welcome ;)

    Heres a quick crysis run

    Crysis 1.21

    4.41Ghz HT on with HD 5850 870/1170

    Ultra High with 4xaa @ 1920x1080

    29.285 FPS

    Extremely impressive in my eyes.

Not bad. Not bad at all for under 250€ card.

Considering I won't be seeing 3x that performane with the HD 5870 CF, which is almost 3 times that much.

    Ugh.

Mine is shipping from Amazon.com on the 13th and yesterday I had an opportunity to order it yesterday from Newegg so it would arrive by Saturday. Unfortunately a week counts as "soon" and products "shipping soon" cannot be canceled. :bang:

I'm also selling my current card on Saturday, which means no computer for me for several days...:bang::bang::bang:

Guys, I might be selling my 275 in the next few days. The 5870's price is kinda steep here in the philippines, think it'll be wise to jump to the 5850 instead from the 275? This will be my first time jumping to ATI btw lol, been using nvidia cards eversince

Very nice result m8, is it with default Volts 1.088 , or you flashed the card with the different one ?

    Got my card today. :) :) :)

So far I am very happy with it. The temps are fine. It's silent and fast.

The installation had a hiccup (it froze during detection), but after disconnecting the second monitor it passed detection. Connected the second monitor again after that and it works fine ever since.

I am planning a second one which will arrive next week (I think).

This will be a fun weekend. :)

    I didn't.
But you can't really compare a single 5850's prices vs a 5870 CF setups price either.
    Just doesn't make sense.

    @ Kylzer,

it looks like I'm not the only 5850 owner whose memory can't hit the default 5870 speeds. Hopefully a volt-mod on the core to reach close to or hopefully 1GHz will make up for that.

    My card does this:

Very cool for Furmark, but it actually keeps hitting 85 degrees, at which it spins a bit harder, to drop back to 83-82 and then it slows down the fan to no-sound-mode again... which causes it to reach 85 & upping the fan again. :eek:uch:

I can't wait to give it a voltage bump :).

Yeah voltage bump should help the memory a bit

I'm hoping to break 1000 core soon though with 1.3v
