Lot's of bad news lately, like the President and CEO of nVidia selling a large quantity of shares. It sounds like they're abandoning ship. I'm generally concerned because if nVidia fails to deliver a quality product, then I may have to hold off on upgrading my GPU http://www.gurufocus.com/news.php?id=69204 http://arstechnica.com/hardware/news/2009/07/intel-amd-steal-graphics-market-share-from-nvidia.ars http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2009/07/apple-may-be-dumping-nvidia-graphics-for-next-gen-macs.ars http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15798/34/ http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15785/1/ http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15796/1/ http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15721/1/ http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15772/1/ http://www.marketwatch.com/story/nvidia-downgraded-to-underweight-at-jp-morgan-2009-10-01 http://www.ngohq.com/news/16332-john-carmack-criticizes-physx.html http://www.semiaccurate.com/2009/06/26/apple-nvidia-dont-let-door-hit-your-ss-way-out/ http://www.techpowerup.com/105052/NVIDIA_Fermi__Tesla_Board_Pictured_in_Greater_Detail_Non-Functiona l_Dummy_Unveiled.html http://www.techreport.com/discussions.x/17693 http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1137463/nvidia-dell http://www.*********.com/news/13199/amd_respond_to_nvidia_s_tough_radeon_hd_5800_questions/index.htm http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display/20090916140327_Nvidia_DirectX_11_Will_Not_Catalyze_Sales_ of_Graphics_Cards.html http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display/20091001125155_Nvidia_Rumoured_to_Delay_Launch_of_Next_Ge neration_GeForce_Fermi_to_2010.html http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display/20091001171332_AMD_Nvidia_PhysX_Will_Be_Irrelevant.html
It may seem that the 1.7% return rate on the 40nM manufacturing process might be true since they were unable to produce a functional FERMI card. http://www.techpowerup.com/105052/N...ter_Detail_Non-Functional_Dummy_Unveiled.html First they denied it in that article. Now they admit it: http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/...irst_Graphics_Cards_on_Track_for_Q4_2009.html What a mess, nVidia PR is.
That can't happen . Nvidia has been a leading GPU manufacturer for the past 5+ years. And its still going very strong with its GT200 series. Going into another revision of GT300 silicon to improve yields, won't be a problem ...
well all will be revealed when the next gen gpu's are launched and how good they are... if they are crap or very delayed launch then there might be something up but considering nvidia's revenue over the last 2 yrs i seriously doubt it.
Haha. I love how ppl forget how much money they have already made in past years. And considering Fermi received very warm welcome from the business world, I have no doubt they are on healthy base for their business.
Nvidia will be dead as soon as they come out with the new gt300 gpu's and I get them on my torture rack. Until then, quad-fire 5870's are screaming at me in pain. lol
Did you read the articles? Nvidia doesn't says anything there. All written text in those is based upon speculation.
Serious??? Most of my good friends here on guru3d have. If you have to see it. this is the current until the gt 300's
Don't worry guys Nvidia won't die hehe. I'm still one of them that supports them exclusively Satisfaction always been very high with Nvidia.
You forget, Intel is STILL trying to snatch up Nvidia. If Nvidia's next series of cards do not do as well, it may yet still happen.
Intel? When did Intel release a serious graphic chip lately? I know they talk about big plans concerning the graphics marked , but lets see those getting realized first. Until that happens Nvidia will still have its share in the marked.
Last time I heard about Larrabee, was when they fired the project leader lol. So don't expect to hear anything from them any time soon.
Holy sheet! u got urself an additional 5870? What is the purpose btw since i understand 3 way xfire does not work for some games.
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15772/1/ This says a lot about all the ATI fanboys saying AMD supports open physics - it is really just pillaging existing open source technology and creating it's own standard. Shame it is a few years behind Nvidia really. As for Nvidia being in trouble - they had the bad bump scandal last year, but considering it is AMD facing bankruptcy and not Nvidia, I don't think there is much of a problem. Yes, some shares have been sold, but they were sold after a considerable average rise, not an average loss that usually comes before the end of a company. Clicky It has been planned since 2005
I remember seeing first GPU physics adverts from ATi from the X850 days. I still haven't seen a game that actually has physics running on GPU on ATi hardware. Yes PhysX isn't doing much better either, but at least there are games using it and few more coming. Atm AMD has given me just lots of talk and bathmouthing of PhysX, without any real use for their own. Which I have been waiting for ages, ATi... *hint hint*
Gaming isn't his purpose, only benches and little gaming. He always has the best products in the market
