Apologies, think this got off-topic because of the link with unstable new drivers and factory overclocked cards.

Ontopic, just installed WinXP to try Batman:AA, damn i had forgot how ugly XP was lol.
These seem to be great drivers in XP32 with Batman:AA and NFS:Shift.

OK, we have a new option in nVidia Control Panel: Show PhysX Visual Indicator.

    I've enabled it

and nothing on-screen in NFS-Shift (it's the only game installed ATM).
So, somebody seen that indicator during games?

Yeah, also shows up in Batman:AA, been in the last few "beta" drivers.

No idea if it will make an appearence in WHQL ones.

Lets see for me 280, everything works great.. down clocks fine after any game. PHYSX+GPU show up at the top left of screen (the games that USE it).

For Need for speed shift.. try going into a race then see if it shows up. Mine didnt pop up till I got into the race. Also try using the version they have on the disc .. if it dont show up

Anyway these drivers work pefect for me.

I'm getting cpu physx indicator in batman and gpu physx in mirror's edge... Are these drivers ****ed up, after all? Or is it just that games like batman and shift dont have support for gpu physx in any nVidia drivers yet? :3eyes:

You need to patch Batman to v1.1 to get GPU Physx. Eidos didn't bother including the most hyped up feature in v1.0 because of my best guess they think it will reduce piracy, rather than inconvenience actual customers. Mind you the GPU Physx patch (v1.1) is over 300mb so obviously it was never included with the retail game to start with.

Nvidia Control Panel reports 256MB deticated video memory, while my card has 320MB. This results in heavy stuttering with memory intensive games, such as GTAIV or Batman:AA (with physx enabled).

I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64 6.1 (buld 7600) and every driver (above 181.71) have this issue. As I remember, everything worked ok on Vista x64.

Try 186.91, I didn't see this issue with that driver on W7x64 Pro.
I noticed this missing memory thing with the 190's on my cards too, but it doesn't seem to affect performance neither how much ram that gets allocated.
Games and benchmarks make use of all the video memory.
I remember there was an issue on Vista when I had my 8800GTS cards, only 256MB was shown, MS made a hotfix to correct that issue back then.
This time I'm sure it's nvidia that needs to correct something.

Did you try Batman on Vista?
Just thinking that the 8800GTS 320MB might be on the lower end for this game.

Thx for answer and suggestion Mineria. 186.91 still reports 256MB of memory, but performance seems normal :) (with other drivers I was getting huge drop downs in framerate so i thought it was memory related problem).

    No i don't.

I was thinking the same, but was very suprised that this old card can handle Batman with everything maxed out (even physx, no AA of course) at decent framerates and 1280x1024 resolution.

This driver has finally fixed the analog TV resize problem that I had with all the 190.xx drivers.

I have my analog TV connected to my card using S-VHS, and the resulting picture is always a bit too small. Usually I could just click that "+"-button in the NVIDIA "Desktop Size" tab to stretch it out, but all 190.xx drivers just made the screen flicker a bit and did not change a thing. 191.00 is the first set where this works again.
