    yeah i love it too^^

great game, ID Soft is back, and the game got a lot of atmosphere^^
    nice sound etc..

    i have a question^^

does someone tried to edit the wolf.cfg?

there are some things i wanna try but i wanna ask first here..

at the bottom of the cfg there is this:

seta hk_asciiHKX "0" no clue what this could be
seta hk_numThreads "2" i know this..its for the cores of cpu
    seta hk_debugger "0" what s this
seta g_postProcessHighQuality "1" can i put it higher? why is it 1 ?
seta r_maxTextureFilterQuality "2" what about this?

seta g_editEntityTextDistance "256" could some one please explain what thsi means?
    seta g_editEntityDistance "512" same. look one up^^

im just wondering if i can tune it a lil. cause im still at 70 frames @ 1600 x 1200 all high as it gets in game menue^^

seta_hk is for havok so those 2 are not important.

    seta g_postProcessHighQuality "1" means 0 off or 1 on.

seta r_maxTextureFilterQuality "2" this probably maxed out..not sure but i doubt it goes to 3..

rest are for online, that text entity is for character text when u see it in the distance above the player.

I know it because its the same in Q4.

Help!!! Where is the config file? I can't find it (vista 32 bit). The mouse up down is not 1:1 with left right and is driving me crazy.

I'm also pissed they chose to just call it Wolfenstein since that makes google searches that much more frustrating.

    found it!!!

under user folder, there is appdata\local\id software\wolfsp\base\

for some reason it would not show up in vista search...

I'm surprised honestly that ID went with a separate physics engine for this game. Uses Havok from what I can see.

Raven is the developer, so perhaps they were more comfortable with Havok, or it's possible Tech 4's physics would have required major changes for what they wanted.

I think it's a couple of things. Maybe not all, but something.
1.Could be that ID tech 4 was not capable of handling physics on its own.
2.That being said, and with how easy physics are to handle now on hardware, adding an outside engine for physics did not seem like such a bad idea. Which it's not so far.

When are the dev's ever going to get it?
    I'm sure it's a cool game, but I'm passing.

been playing it a bit. seems ok..here's a pic.

although i have one issue..might be screen tearing (its a line that runs horizontally through screen every so oftern).

i have v-sync on. yes you would have thought there wouldnt be any issues. thing is i cant turn v-sync off. i have forced off in nvidia cp and also in-game its off..mmm

Tech 4 engine based off Doom 3 (Quake 4, Prey and Quake Wars.) so the max framerate is 60 and ideal framerate is also 60, can be removed if the game has access to the console (That fixed tick parameter stuff.) but it'll cause the game to go in slow motion under 60 FPS and at super speed over 60 FPS.

then i wonder whats causing this line going down horizontally through the screen..

apart from that game has run pretty smooth and is fun. perhaps i'll hold off playing till another driver release or someone else gets same problem or someone finds a fix :)

Because vsync is off by default and the framerate is capped at 60 by the game?

i think mr.beckman has already answered this. single player seems to be capped at 60...

i dont mind the 60fps cap sp or multiplayer but my major issue is this screen tearing or line through the screen..its like a fuzzy line that moves down the screen horizontally. doesnt happen with any other games..

What Postalisback meant is that you should enable V-synch.

No, what I meant was that the game probably automatically forces vertical sync to be off and it caps your framerate at 60 (similar to what Doom 3 does)

well i cant get above 60fps...i think mr.beckman meant that's how the game runs..

but always at 60fps? seems strange. i know some mp's force framerate cap e.g killing floor..

i have forced off vysnc in cp and in-game settings and wont budge from 60fps.

    (btw am talking about single-player)
