    Hi Gurus!

When I found out BM:AA uses the UT3 engine, I thought: cool!

When I found out the demo can't enable Anti-Aliasing on my HD4870, I was f***** pi*** off. (sorry for the explicit language)

This was unacceptable, so I set out to fix this. I remembered renaming an exe file could enable previously unavailable crossfire options in certain games some time ago. So I set out and tried every UT3 engine title I knew. Guess what!

I, on my humble PC (and thus not giving any guarantee it will work to your personal satisfaction or that of Eidos, on your PC), I have succeeded in (partially?) enabling AA in the demo.

    Steps to follow:
    - run the launcher and set your preferred settings, you won't be coming back here
    - go the %pathToDemoInstallation%\binaries\ and rename "ShippingPC-BmGame.exe" to "WarGame-G4WLive.exe". Yes you read right, it's the name of the Gears of War executable :)
    - Go to the CCC, and set your anti-aliasing to the preferred level.
    - if performance sucks, turn of in-game ambient occlusion (which IMHO doesn't do much :) )

I have found the Print Screen key and works wonders for screenshots :stewpid:
Here are the pics (not including any shots taken without the rename, as it is obvious to every ATi owner that AA is lacking there):
The wide tent filter applied, which blurs everything and thus proving the AA is being applied:

The names denote which settings are used so a neat comparison can be made.

Hoping to relieve some worried minds about no AA in the game.

On my system the game always stays @ 60fps without AA (I play at 1920x1200)
And when I put 2x AA it drops to 35-40fps
    Ouch :(
    (I'm using catalyst 8.634 beta)

@niukniuk: 512 MB could be a bottleneck at 1200p... Do you really need anti-aliasing? My brother also plays full HD and I wouldn't mind the absence of AA.

@CPC_RedDawn: then you have a very good monitor, but mine really needs 2x+Adaptive.

I don't really need it, it plays very well with AA disabled...I was just testing this tweak :)
    I know that 512mb is a bit weak, I should have bought 1gig HD4870 :(

At the moment I find AA forcing control panet ATT for Unreal Engine 3 work with Win XP catalyst 9.6 Beta ver. 8.620.0.0 only (same as X-Men Origins: Wolverine), new drivers after at missed it support.

Full max setting, 1280x1024, 8AA, 16 AF, vsync off, excluding physics:
