Personnal preferance. Like I said I'd only upgrade to an Nvidia card if it was a 285, otherwise I think ATI have the rest beat. P.S I don't go for dual GPU solutions, headache.
Why to that? Dual GPU cards need more complex drivers and are not supported very well in alot of games. When they work their awesome, but your far more likely to have issues than with a single GPU card. Single powerful GPU solutions like the 285 are more than enough for me. Plus they dump massive heat!
btw what is evga? how about my mother board and ram? should i get another or what? and what is meaning of mhz in 1333mhz?
Evga is a popular maker of Nvidia cards, they also make motherboards and other things. I'd agree with the others that a Gigabyte board would be a good choice if you have a budget. However the Asus P6T Deluxe v2 board just got a fantastic write up from CustomPc. Personally I would have went for higher speed ram if I was gonna spend money on a core i7! Probs would go for 16000+ Kingston HyperX 2000MHz - but its expensive.

Within the year I've been using a dual GPU setup, I've never really had any issues. There's a ton of games that scale quite nicely with CrossfireX, and the ones that don't usually get a patch or a Catalyst update to make them work. The only game that I have that wouldn't scale on Crossfire was Crysis, until ATI released an updated catalyst version which made my performance in Crysis nearly double. Also, even though it cost me an arm and a leg, I never once regretted getting a dual GPU setup. I know there's a lot of controversy between single and dual GPU setups. But think of it like this, if running dual GPUs were truly as bad as you make it out to be, there would be a lot less people getting them.
Everything I said about dual GPU's is entirely true. - They are more likely to have issues. - They don't scale well in a lot of games. - They do produce lots more heat. - It costs more. - and in my opinion a single powerful GPU like the 285 is enough to play any demanding game (unless your running a huge monitor or something) In fact heres a prime example :- http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=301695 And nearly double performance in crysis is a load of rubbish.

Are you going to be using a SCSI drive? If you don't even know what that means then you don't need it.

If you would have read the thread, you would know that Satan's motherboard isn't detecting the 2nd GPU. That would imply that either his 2nd card is dead or his motherboard is faulty. Also - Single card = 19.04 FPS average - CrossfireX = 33.75 FPS Gee, that's only ~4 FPS off from two times the performance of a single card.
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159455 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151477 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152641 i can safely say these three are very good choices. why? cos i own them well my 920 is co. the do is better. i would go for 1600 mhz ram. when u overclock the extra speed might mean its easier to overclock to your required speed or to push your cpu to the max. this is a "maybe" and lavans did have a point in his post as well. i view it is better to have faster ram and underclock it slightly (i.e u have 1600mhz and run it a 1520) rather than having slower ram and then needing to give it more juice. although some gurus here i know have 1333mhz and running nice overclocks np at all.. and 285 is plenty for any game. i 2 would steer clear of dual-gps. nothing wrong with them really...but can be more hassle. depends. a 275/285/4890 are fine for any game really on the market atm..show us which site u can order from and we can suggest u a few of each variety and u can decide which is best for your budget. dont skimp on a quality psu. better to be future proofed if you are investing considerable time/money in your new baby as it were (plus 1 to biggerx build as well. sparkel would be 3rd choice after evga/bfg/inno 275 whichever is cheapest).
guys is this the final build or should replace the gtx 275 to gtx 280 or 285? and also the mother board is that the final one?
IMO, while the GTX280/285 are excellent cards, the performance gain they offer over a HD4890 or GTX275 doesn't justify the difference in price.
