i remember watching my friend play it for hours and it scared me just watching it. lol
i hated the controls and is why i never wanted to play it myself, but i enjoyed watching someone else play.
i did play RE2 a bit and the Dreamcast version which was pretty darn good.

This game takes a huge hit in performance with in game anti aliasing I would recommend using forced anti aliasing an anistrophic it runs way smoother without taking a hit in performance.:vader:

runs at ~40-45FPS at max in my ol PC (1280x1024, 2X AA) very playable, since the original game is made to run in 30FPS in consoles anyway...

thanks!, even for dualcore, its defaulted at 1..., my non-variable benchmark went from 21fps to 25fps

oh and 32 to 64bits affects a lot of performance :p, altho my cpu bottlenecks helps to dont notice it :wanker:

    Thanks.

Here's 2 more results with HDR on High, which seems to take a nice 19% hit in performance.

    Windows 7 64bit
    4870 1GB - 810/975Mhz - Catalyst 9.7
    1920x1080 - DX9 - 64bit - max settings ( no motion blur )

    4xAA / 8xAA

    Benches as follows:

First off, a ridiculously low setting. All settings to default, DX9.

For the next three, I used the following settings in the config.ini, except the first one uses 64-bit color and the next two use 32-bit, with the third rendered in DX10 and the first two in DX9.

I'm presuming that getting just over 60 fps is only rated as an A instead of the expected S because it's halving that framerate to take in account people using the 3D stereoscopic glasses which have to render two frames, one for each eye? In other words if you're not using them then the game is actually running optimally if you're exceeding 60 fps on average?

I got my new 24" 1920x1200 HP LP2475w monitor on Friday which is higher resolution than my previous 22" Dell E228WFP but if I drop the AA to 8X and keep the same High settings with motion blur on, I can achieve just over 60 fps and an S rating. If I disable AA and motion blur then I exceed 100 fps which gets me an S rating. To be honest even without AA the jaggies are not particularly noticeable but since I play with v-sync enabled there's no point in leaving AA off; might as well set it to 4X or 8X for the full game for the extra eye-candy.
