    Ok, hello everyone!

I installed W7, long time ago, and I'm really satisfied with it!
Just one thing-It doesn't install any new drivers!

I install them normally as I do every time, with driver cleaner and everything, but the same thing happens, it says "your system has not been modified, try again later bla bla."

Happens with every new driver, and the only driver that sorta works is 181.71 :(

So please, could someone tell why this occurs?
    Thanks in advance!:)

That usually happens if the driver installer cannot identify your graphics card because the INF file doesn't contain an entry for it. As newer cards are released, NVIDIA often drop support for older cards. I had a similar issue when I had a GeForce 7800 GS+ card.

You may need to use a custom INF to install the newer drivers.

    Hmm, I understand!
But do you really think my 8800 GTS is unsupported?

And if I need to use the custom inf, then i should just copy my cards info from the working driver's inf file?

    Hi guys.
I did not want to open a new thread. Quick question.
I updated my driver from 185.85 to 186.08 and I love it. The problem now that in my COD4 game all my saved games dissapiered. Can the driver update cuase this because I do not remember doing anything else and I am puzzled.

Nah that would give a "No Compatible Hardware Found" error.

    @OP:
Reboot, Hit F8 and use the disable signed driver enforcement option, then try installing the driver again. Hopefully that will help..

Or... In 64bit version of Vista/Win7,
Open command prompt as administrator, run this command:
    bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON
    Restart

    btw are you using antivirus?

Yes I do, and if you are wondering, I turned it off ;)

Still the same thing happens regarding the antiviruse's state!

But the thing that streches my mind, is why the 181.71 driver works?

I apologize. Did not want to open new one since I thought would be simple yes or no. Again sorry.

It would be a simple 'no'. Installing drivers will not delete any saved games.
Are they totally deleted from the game folder or are they still there but you cannot see them from within the game? Are you sure you are using the right/same game profile?

    OP: IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!
Man, i'm gonna break furniture if it continues it's not-working spree!

    I have seriously tried everything.

Sorry guys. I feel guilty to post in this thread. But the funny thing is that not only saved games gone from the folder but my profiles are gone too.

    Don't feel guilty at all.

yleclerchas unfortunately suffers from a literary strain of Tourette's syndrome, and is unable to contain his rude and obnoxious comments.

Plan B: Turn your Antivirus ON and see if it prompts you to allow installation of the drivers, if it does then click yes, .....

Also something else you can try. IMO some driver cleaners can create more issues than they solve, ie, they may remove certain nv driver files that come with the OS which may be needed for the card to work properly. I know that happened to me a long time ago and I since stopped using cleaners. Try doing a system file check with sfc /scannow in your run box, if theres anything missing it will be restored, then try installing the drivers.

You're not trying to install drivers into a read-only directory are you?

Have you tried doing a manual update via device manager or running the installer with admin rights?

    I also thought about that!
Maybe the earlier bet doesn't support these drivers!

    I will definately try that!
