yeah unfortunately they don't have a contact e-mail for the US. Not on their Technet Subscription Help contact list anyways.
Has anyone had any problems with any of the keys they have used that they got off this thing? I am still not comfortable installing Vista x64 with the key i got because of this.
I hope to God someone didn't think I was selling a key from this technet thing... cause that is NOT what it is.. I have a FS thread in the classifieds for a few weeks now selling a legit copy of Vista 32bit OEM Ultimate original disk and box and everything so yeah I stand to get screwed by this if MS doesn't keep the keys blacklisted cause I really want to sell this. I accually had someone PM me about buying a key they thought I got from this technet issue and said since I got it for free they wouldn't pay much for it.. I mean WTF!? No people... I have a legit copy and disk/box and everything! See my FS thread cause I'm only asking 30% less than what Newegg is asking for it!
Sweet, I use mine for a legitimate problem I have and I get the shaft again. Well, if the ONE XP Pro SP3 cd-key I got gets blacklisted then Microsoft will never see my money again.
I just got off the chat with technet sorry closed the window and forgot to copy it so i could paste it but they said it was their fault and all keys would be honored as we were subscribers at the time the keys were given. Therefore it can not be considered stealing or pirating. Even though I live in Canada and gave a false American address there is nothing they can do because there was no information check on their end to verify who I was. Same goes for everyone else who signed up under false pretenses. So there you go. Oh and the funny thing is my software was shipped on friday at 821 pst to my canadian address that they had changed for me on Thursday LOL. Aparently if you called them like I did and had your info changed they send you a copy of whatever you downloaded. Now what the hell am I going to do with a full Miccrosoft library in retail boxes. They even paid the shipping.
That just sounds too good to be true. All information I have so far though seems to indicate the opposite. I just wish Microsoft would issue a press release or something like that so that we have a definite answer. I couldn't find anything regarding it on their various Blogs... TechNet Plus Subscriptions Blog http://blogs.technet.com/technetplussubscriptions/ TechBlog http://blogs.technet.com/techblog/ TechNet Blogs http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/blogs.aspx (...) Quite interesting is also that they apparently never send an email saying that the TechNet Plus subscription I signed up for was canceled, etc. (at least I never got one). Doesn't anyone of our readers work for Microsoft and can get us a definite answer in this regard? :nerd: This whole "TechNet" affair is quite a roller coaster ride.
Well to be perfectly honest the whole free subsciption thing was to good to be true in the first place. My subscription is no longer active for the keys and downloads but my account is still there. My keys all still work as I just did another install of Vista ultimate on my new HTPC and it activated in about 5 seconds. Aparently I will have to pay the taxes and the duty fees on the software as they shipped it to a broker at the border. I have no idea how much though my tracking says boxes 3of3 weight is 4,2 to 5 pounds per box.
What did they ship you? Cause as far as I can tell the last set of disks they sent out was over 3 months ago. Do we get all the back catalog or something? or did you request something special?
