I think it sucks and it decreases performance, so i just use the older ageia physx software, the one that shipped with Jericho.

So you are saying the newer drivers are worse than the older ones for current games?

I have no decrease in performance when playing PhysX enabled games

Me neither, only problem ive noticed is a bit of microstuttering in Mirror's Edge, but that could be easily rectified with a second graphics card or dual GPU card.(its not like you need SLI for Mirror's edge anyway)

I use my 9600GT to process physx and it is faster than letting my 260 process it especially when i apply AA and AF and especially when the game/App is shader intensive. Areas in mirror's edge that showed some problem when it was just the 260 was none existent when my 9600gt was processing physx.

It is agreed that the 9600GT is the absolute minimum to use as a Physx card.

    True. Total trash.

    GeForce 8400 GS

    Core Clock (MHz) 450
    Shader Clock (MHz) 900
    Memory Clock (MHz) 400
    Memory Amount 256MB
    Memory Interface 64-bit
    Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 6.4
    Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 3.6

Pointless to even consider gaming with this.

For gaming. It's ideal for HTPC and office use.

i use it in mirrors edge, GRAW2, UT3, and few others.. those in software mode don't have an impact at all, like you mentioned Jericho, or Grid, MOH-airborne, etc..

and to be honest i don't see an impact now that i have enough ram (i have it enabled all the time), before with 320mb i noticed some stutters (i disabled it when i didnt use it).

I turn it off in nvcp... I don't play any games that use it, so I just turned it on for mirror's edge and haven't used it since that.

I turned it on to see what impact it would make on my 3DMark Vantage score....10k increase in my CPU score....GPU score is pathetic though.

I wouldn't even use an 8400GS for an HTPC or office use. 6200 or 7200 does just fine for office use, unless you're bound to using a PCI card, then I'd pickup an FX5500. 8400GS, 8500GT, 8600GT....all garbage, and I had 2 8600GT's in SLI until a year ago. 7300GT for an HTPC, as it's DHCP compliant and has similar performance.

i run physx and its complete stable and fine 4870x2 + 8800gt

p.s. all you people with 8600 or less physx only uses the cores on a gpu not the clocks or any thing else and its recommended to use 96 or more for smooth fps, dont htink o/cing the card help lol
