Crysis warhead 1360x768 Enthusiast, Shadows Gamer, 4x AA. I'll have to tweak it a bit to get 30+ FPS with 4xAA, but it stays 25+

That will be for a while. I'm still pleased with Crysis Warhead results. Heck, it's on enthusiast with 4x AA. And I have yet to tweak it or fully OC my card.

What about just using 2XAA?? Better then none, but does it provide the desired performance?:3eyes:

Just curious...been awhile since I played...even on my system, I vaguely remember it not even making much of a difference.... 2X vs 4X didn't matter in terms of performance...:nerd:

Seriously in Crysis AA is weird. AA vs NO AA is like an impact of 3-4 FPS and 2X vs 4X give me the same FPS lol. I OC'ed my card (GTx 260 are impressive OCers !) and I can almost stay constant fps 30+ with 4x AA!

I'm mostly pleased because 30 fps is more than playable seriously. It's either 30 or 60 FPS for me.

man, whats your res for your monitor? AA kills Crysis + Warhead, i can get avg 44FPS @ 1680x1050 no AA on enthusiast settings

meh how can you get 44 average FPS on a gtx 260 at that res... If I get 34 FPS in a certain scene no AA, 4x AA will give me 30 fps ?! I guess I'm already killed by warhead and the AA don't give a **** about it lol. But I oc'ed my stuff a bit more and it staying 28-40 FPS in 1360x768 with 4X AA. With no AA I'd say it would do 30/32 to 45 FPS...

Note I'm not running any crysis benchies, I'm just using the FPS I see in-game, and in heavy forest Enthusiasts 4x AA is DEFINETELY staying around 30 FPS with a GTX 260.

Nice, MaLDo. Finally a setup that can run Crysis (Warhead) with all the eye-candy @ constant 60 fps. :D

grid has its own AO if you didnt know that yet, so forcing it trough nv driver won't do anything imo, only make it worse.

You can disable or enable it in hardware_settings_config.ini file.

    My native res is 1920x1080 (37in HDTV) Played both @ 1680x1050 & 1920x1080..

It's a weird game... Haven't played in almost a year.. weird thing is.. I got same fps at both res, & only 5-7 dip when 2xAA or 4xAA turned on:3eyes:...

Game performed worse at lower resolutions though.. :shrugs:

    :edit:

I'd really like to upgrade...I've had this cpu & mobo for almost 3 years...lol...
Can't believe it's lasted me this long... I can't seem to fathom upgrading until windows 7 & better, more affordable hardware come out though.... Seems pointless to build a system now with all the new technology pouring from manufacturers...:bang:
