AO is Alpha state driver feature. If you thought it is ready to be used in all new games, think again.

Using the first driver including AO was fine except from poor performance it implied...

It is still alpha feature. Its like saying you invented cure for cancer and say it works if the first patient lives.

Yeah, just noticed that. Tried installing the latest version but no luck. Xml and nvapps errors popping up. Anyone managed to get it working with the 185.66?

I can't figure out why when I change my driver from 182.08 to either 182.50 or 185.66 that my farcry 2 fps goes from 70 average to like 44. Any ideas. Yes quad sli is enabled

    I lost 2-3 fps in farcry2 form 182.08 to 185.42...

Are people having problems with the "resize my destop on HDMI" on their HDMI output sticking? On 185.65 it didn't work at all for me, so I don't want to bother installing this driver unless it works.

I will be a bit pissed since they now show the new drivers with the HDMI "lock" and if they disabled the ability to adjust overscan on HDMI enabled TVs. My HDTV has huge overscan from HDMI (over 20%) so it's really unusuable unless I am able to adjust it from the control panel.

Hopefully this is just a bug and a "work in progress" and the HDMI overscan adjust feature will be as usuable as it was in other release versions.

185.66 causes instant crashes with TF2 or L4D, which makes -NO- sense because 185.65 ran fantastically and without problems

Since you took 185.65 off the site, I'm stuck using WHQL drivers until then

Valagard: is it actually crashing, or is it doing what Half-Life 2: Deathmatch did for me? It would load everything, but all you'd see is a black screen. You could still see the cursor.... and move it around, and you'd still hear the sound made by moving the cursor over a menu item if you were in the right area.

Well, little do you know All that replied about the Windows Experience Index.

If your index is below par to a game, you simply don't get the performance benefits. Thus you failed to understand the Nature of this Index.

Silky Veils. Obviously you must cruise through life with one eye open.

Without a Video Card that does not have the qualities to Use Aero, you can't Use aero without a "Hack". You hack the Index, you use Aero.

What does this Tell You? The Index determines what You can Use in VISTA.
Plain in Simple. Like Windows SideShow.

Read the Vista Underground Manual. Then you can come talk to me.

As for the rest, you failed to read my clue in's. Read the whole post with "both" eyes open and read to understand.

This is why you lose in the industry to those who pay "attention" to why there is an "Index" to begin with. Anyone with "half" a brain would realize this "Index" plays a major part of "Performance".

    Go learn.:infinity:

    Peace

Next, The Second Control Panel. the New one does not install. "A Second Control Panel" If you looked in your files which you extracted, That's if you pay attention there is a new Control Panel. This must be for the new stuff. Or they wouldn't put it in there as a Setup.EXe "type" File.

It might be that the New Control Panel is something like nHancer, but since it won't install, won't know.

    Thanks for your cooperation,

    Peace

AA(super or multisampling) for textures is broken with 185.66 with AO enabled (using 8800GTS 640MB) and also causes black artifacts for transparent textures. (tested in TF2)

going to check out 185.68 now.

You are wrong and should take your own advice about education. I have not read the "Vista Underground Manual" and likely never will, but I have the advantage of firing up more than three neurons when I am using and reading about my PC.

If you apply this method to your real life, perhaps you'll avoid walking into walls at random, drinking bleach and putting salt in your eyes.

No wonder I had heavy stuttering, I forgot to install the PhysX drivers :p
I'd say that alleged 45% performance increase in Mirror's Edge does not apply for my rig because it still stutters a little with x16Q on.
