Installed 3DM06 on my RAM drive and got 21,020 then it crashed as I was doing a screen grab :(

    Rebooted and re-ran and got 21,557 :D

Managed the screen grab but again crashed my system when I tried to upload the score :(

Gotta figure out how to get my sys mem to tighter timings. My XP on this Gigabyte board is having a time getting started though. Maybe I'll go for the2oz. copper board. They're getting cheaper USD140. Definately need to cool down that MCH.:bang:

    Edit : Got the 2oz. board...love it !

    Hey guys,

I'm a little concerned about the score of my system at stock speeds.

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=10082320

Is that to be expected? Absolutely nothing was over-clocked for that score. I think that a score of 14,568 is on the slow and low side of things, no? But if I over-clock the CPU @ 3.75 and RAM @ 1Ghz (and leave the GPU at stock) then it suddenly jumps to 17,374, is that also "alright"?

    Thanks.

EDIT: After some verification it looks like everything is fine. I've also looked at the public Futuremark ORB's database (via benchmarks research) and all the systems I found that had the exact same hardware also performed within the same limits at corresponding frequencies, and usually the best result came when OC'ing the CPU and RAM rather than the card itself, and my score of 17,374 given the frequencies and hardware in question is apparently fine and to be expected. So never mind this post guys.

i was amazed when i stole my room mates 4870x2 and put it in with my 4870.

lol 3GB texture memory.. oh they were all stock except for CPU overclock. once i get a 4870x2 of my own i will overclock the three GPU's.

Have you tried unlinking your ram and cpu. And just overclock the cpu.

My score beats yours by just a bit. with CPU oc'd to 4.2, ram at 800MHz, and a GTX260 216 with 13% oc.
