    For the guys with the 2d/ 3d prob, try a modified Profile, maybe that works ( You have to unlock Ati overdrive for it:

    Make a new *.xml file in

    C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles

    and paste the following:

    <Profile>
    <Caste name="Graphics">
    <Groups>
    <Group name="Overdrive5">
    <Feature name="TimeUnlocked" />
    <Feature name="OverclockEnabled">
    <Property name="OverclockEnabledProperty" value="True" />
    </Feature>
    <Feature name="CoreClockTarget_0">
    <Property name="Want_0" value="30000" />
    <Property name="Want_1" value="75000" />
    </Feature>
    <Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_0">
    <Property name="Want_0" value="33300" />

    Then load it up with the ccc Profile manager.

    This Profile should let ur card run a fair bit cooler in 2d mode and for me it sets both cores always to the same speeds, maybe ure lucky with it !!

    this method works!
    i did it with first beta drivers (8.8 or something can't remember)and after that i install every new driver on top of old one (without cleaners/sweepers) and it works :)
    i set my 2d clocks to 300/300 gpu/mem on both cores and 830/950 for 3d and the card works fine since the early beta's
    more detailed explanation here

    Interesting, I thought that in order to fix it you need to enable overdrive then the second core gets downclocked. But if that works for folk that's also great news.

    Well, despite all the problems listed in this thread, I'll have to say that the 9.2 works great for me so far.

    Tested several games: Crysis( runs very smooth with all on very high), Crysis Warhead(Runs very smooth with all on enthusiast), Far Cry 2(Runs very smooth with all on Ultra High), L4D runs very smooth, Bioshock runs very smooth, Mass Effect runs very smooth and F.E.A.R 2 runs much better than with previous drivers, the autosave session doesn't stutter the gameplay anymore.

    These are the games I've tested so far. Resolution in all games are 1920x1200, and I mostly use 4xAA, Vsync on.

    I will go as far as to say that these drivers may be the best released so far. Haven't done any benchmarking or FPS testing though, but as written, the game tested feels smoother than with 8.12 hotfix.

    Unfortunately.. The 2d/3d bug on second core is back.

    But all in all, these are very good drivers for my rig.:banana:

    Ok my tought's on these joke drivers:

    First game i tested was Fear 2, it was very smooth, with good fps increase, good job on this one.
    Second game was Crysis warhead, and lol at like 79% of the game loading the game would just freeze, after somehow it loaded i started playing it and was shocked at the low pereformance , CrossfireX icon was showns but fps was 30-40 with some kind of lagg, With 8.12 and 9.1 i had 45-60 fps easy and no lagg at all..
    Red alert 3 - Works fine
    Gta 4 - Benchmark shows 10 fps decrease, witch is sad and some kind of lagg i feel when playing the game, cant explain Language (( Flichering? im russian so i think thats what Flichering meents lol
    Far Cry 2 - 20 fps decrease, BUT i dont feel the lag it had before even with higher fps?
    Straangeeeee, gonna test some more games, but probly gonna downgrade to 9.1 ;(

    Installed over the top of 9.1 on vista x64 sp2 rc - no problem installing. L4D, UT3, HL EP2, Stalker CS, FEAR played OK immediately (Stalker and FEAR seem improved).

    Crysis Warhead when first started system hung, second start textureless crawling slide show, third start slide show then waited several minutes -textures became detailed in fixed position and game became playable and obviously improved as per release notes.

    Yup, last time this showed up, it was on GPU1, now it's the GPU2 that stays on 3D clocks, until a 3D app has been started and exited. At least the GPU2 doesn't heat up the card as badly in case I forget it after a fresh boot..

    Hmm on more testing, Crysis Warhead now has occasional texture flickering, vSync is broken in the game now.

    A few games refuse to run, including Fear 2 - one's that do seem about the same performance wise.

    Also getting some stuttering when playing video on the second monitor.

    Annnnd the 2d/3d bug is back.

    Never had to complain about a driver update but this one seems insanely buggy.

    cannot uninstall 9.1s in order to install 9.2s. Prompts an error saying "Catalyst install manager cannot initialize detection manager" and does not let me uninstall them

    WTF??????????

    Apart from the powerplay bug, these drivers works just fine, with some very nice improvements. And when you add the fact that this is coming from me, who uses Server 2008 64bit, witch probably is the trickiest OS to install ATI drivers on, especially with x2/CFX, I wonder how so many can mess this up so badly.......

    Zero problems here like with every release, installation over old ones letting the catalyst install manager take care of its own software/driver.

    Crysis/warhead runs faster and smooth too, I gained like 8-10 fps in crysis. I need to double check warhead because I had a problem with saved games but starting a new game or from the start of the chapter fixed my other saves (same chapter).

    DoW2 and EmpireTW demo very smooth. The demo works with crossfire already.

    Nice drivers so far.

    I'm running Vista x64 and haven't experienced any of these issue with those applications. Do still see the occasional white outline puddles of water in COD W@W.

    I've seen a nice boost in COD:WAW, Relentless. Overall, as someone else mentioned all games play more smoother. As if Cat 9.1 was performing somehow slower. Animation in all games tried are faster and more fluid then before.
