Yeah, that's what I do as well. I also remove the ATI directory if I spot it.

My clocks are at 2d, 507 core 500 memory(or so CCC claims), no 3d app has been loaded. When I said hot I should have specified... only about 7-8C higher. Nevertheless I loaded up COD4 and ill see if the temp drops.

E/ Seems to have worked, temps are dropping. *sigh*

great driver from ati as usual,i am still happy from day 1 until now, never had a single issue and its hard for ati to solve a problem when its not all its user suffer the same faith.
i have a friend and is video card only crashes when he overclocks his physical memory(rams) so sometimes its other things causing the probs.
when i had my 8800gtx sc i found it impossible to use vista as my main OS cuz i would get bsod, freeze games and driver crashes, with this 4870 1gb i didn't even install xp any more(thanks ati) and for the rcord this is my first ati card and i'm not a fan of either and some people want too much from a driver.

    By the release notes, yes.
and still this driver DOES NOT FIX THE GPU SCALING IMAGE CENTER ONLY BUG, that's frustrating.

well they're not supposed to be for windows 7
there's no scaling probs in vista

FWIW the "official" win7 preview drivers scale the game image to full screen

Just wait for 9.3.......the windows 7 driver is suppose to be updated with 9.3 (when it comes out of course), which should hopefully fix the scaling bug.
