People who use weed around here seem absolutely obsessed by it. It's mentioned all the time, everywhere. I don't know how many pictures I've removed from the rig gallery where people "unintentionally" have snuck in a weed plant in the picture, and I also notice some of the posters above me have weed related avatars. Is it possible to use it without preaching to everyone about it? Damn, it's like a religion!

Oh well. I'll add that I'm against it and I hope it never will be legalised here, and I don't think it will be -- thankfully.

i cant be arsed to keep playing a game of throw the ball :) but i do see where your coming from.

    1) weed can and does make alot of people paranoid which in my mind is a bad side of the drug, can also make people pass out.

    2) www.google.com with weed and health warning, i must admit its all reading i am going on and but its there.

    3) You can make your own alcohol, with basic cheap ingredients.

    4) so you are sort of agreeing with me? :) yes weed itself does not cause crime, but the getting of it does, where as using alcohol causes crime.

    5) perhaps im just being a little bit nieve, but i thought you had to put tobacco in a spliff to make it burn, or use a bong. Fact is people do it because it is relaxing etc to me that is an addiction, i like using ebay and cant stop, thats an addiction not because it is full of chemicals ;)

found this on the net too, dunno if its a valid source,

    Marijuana can be addictive:
Many treatment centers around the country are treating patients who have a primary addiction to marijuana. Withdrawal signs show up between 10-15 days after the last use and can include any of the following: sleeplessness, anxiety, nervousness, restlessness, loss of appetite, and cravings to use the drug or other drugs.

    found this too,

    interesting read...

I wouldn't say I felt any sort of addictiveness from weed. Then again, I never really noticed any sort of desire to smoke ciggarettesm and I have smoked a good few so far. But I would never go out and buy some, or smoke them when I wasn't out drinking and socialising. Just like I would never drink or smoke weed on my own. It's a social thing.

But malt loaf, white chocolate, milk and pineapple juice? Definitely addicted to those!

People can get addicted to weed, but people can get addicted to anything. The difference between addictions though is, in my opinion, some of them are more mental than physical. I don't need chocolate or pineapple juice. I just really want it. I won't get the shakes or anything if I go cold turkey, but I won't like it. To me, that's not an addiction, and a LOT of people I know say they are addicted to things when in fact they are no worse than I am with malt loaf.

Now cocaine, heroin etc, THOSE are real addictions. There is an incredibly powerful physical reaction, rather than just something like a small release of endorphines with chocolate or the pleasant high from weed.

Purely out of curiosity John, what is it that makes you not want it legalised? I very much doubt it will be legalised anywhere it isn't already as well, but I couldn't see its legalisation being a problem any bigger than having it illegal is already causing.

I would expect a far lesser number of people to drive while stoned than already drive while drunk. For one, weed does not impair your reactions or common sense half as much as alcohol does. And secondly, smoking weed is always more fun at home with some friends. You dont have to go to the pub to smoke weed or to the supermarket etc. You get some off a dealer, go home, and smoke.

I'm not saying cases would be none existant, but they would be no where near the level of trouble the country already has with drunk drivers.

^ the real danger you speak of is when you smoke it using flame. If you smoke using a vape the damage to your lungs is negligible.

I thought drink driving was on the decrease.

I know a couple of taxi drivers who drive after having a smoke, they say, "does no harm man, not as bad as alcohol".

The thing is they believe that.

Well for some people cannabis is a hobby ay.

I mean **** people put swords, alcohol and tobacco in their PC shots so I guess the grass is just another addition, Its only normal for people to add a little 'cool' to their shots, personally not my piece of cake too.

Meh I use pot once in a while and I don't get the fanatical obsession into posting avatars with weed or going all hippie because of weed but I guess the Internet is one of the few places were pot smokers can without fear of being busted express some degree of liberty.

Personally I was alwyas in favour of legalization even before using it, Its more the fact of all the public money being thrown away which gets to me.

The difference is that it isn't legal, so those pictures will be removed anyway. Sometimes I wonder if people have entered the wrong bookmark... like pottalk.com instead of guru3d.com. :bang:

No it's not, we apply to our own rules. Remember, this is a privately owned forum.

As Cannabis can be used to fund organised crime, surely that is reason enough for the government to legalise the stuff so it can be regulated.

+1 Not only is it used to fund Organised Crime but its also known to fund terrorism in countries like africa and afganistan. + Half the weed out on the streets has all kinds of **** in it. The most horrfic would be dealers scraping traces of glass into it.

well it is the pub now isn't it?

Just as we have the favourite wine/vodka/rum/whiskey thread without being alcohol.com and having 2 pages of sword talk (which legality wasn't verified and probably isn't) without being japan.com.
