These are being hosted by TechPowerup as well, Just saw a post however by someone at HardForum and he says we should be getting driver 8.58, the ones floating around now and linked to below are 8.573 dated 01/13/2009. Don't know if this rumor is true however. Guess wait and see is the only way to find out.

I doubt it as well, these 9.1's are WHQL'd.

I didn't say it, just rumor mill at [H]. :) I'm leaning to these being the actual release drivers myself. Better be as I'm getting tired of shuffling links and back peddling.

What really bugs me is ATI having the 9.1 page up since yesterday linking to Cat. 8.12. If this is there way of generating excitement, I think it's going to backfire on them. If it isn't, then that page should have been pulled down until the drivers were actually there for download. Either way ...:bang:

If these are the real deal, then I can say once again, thanks for nothing, because the existing bugs that I already mentioned are still there. The thing is, that this set is much slower than the latest hotfix.
I think the only thing they fixed was the 8gb ram problem, but that was easy to solve, just rename catalyst 8.10 to 9.1 and problem solved, wich I think ati have done :)

    These numbers are legit.

Catalyst 9.1 is using the 8.573 driver.

More details about what happend with the web post, I don't have at the moment.

If so , this is a useless driver, why bother releasing this one when we had a better one in the first place. The point is going forward no backward.

It would be nice to finally be able to uninstall my drivers via Catalyst. Just a thought...

Here what game.amd.com administrator say "The driver page will be updated later today. The 9.1 package is version 8.57.3, not the same as the hotfix drivers though as these fix the 6 - 8GB install problem and the previous hotfixes dont. The hotfixes are faster in various games however due to the multi-gpu threading which wont be in the official drivers til later.

If you dont want to wait, the drivers are already on various other sites.

WHAT! This is complete bullsh*t!! We wait this long for waht everyone expects to be a new performance driver that gives us a nice performance increase and what do we get... a driver that performs worse than the previous hotfix!!! What is the point in that! (The 8.12 hotfix driver perform horrible for me). This is 100% ridiculous! I demand RELEASE NOTES and BENCHIES!

Calm down and be patient, these things take time. I'd rather have them perfect the multi-core support than half ass it and release it with known issues. Hell for all we know they could be tweaking it for further gains in performance. Just going to have to wait and see.
