I have a friend that has a HP destop PC and she just bought a bigger harddrive for her computer but I don't know how to clone here old 40Gig to put in the 320Gig she just bought. I'm wanting to move everything from the older to the newer harddrive which includes all programs, microsoft updates, saved game files etc. So it there some a way to do that or not. Thanks.
Just grab any of the free HD cloning programs available. Obviously you want to format the new drive as a Primary par****on as well!
Yeah I reckon Ghost is the best one, but I think it only comes on 0.8 which is pretty old. (could be wrong). I've also used CloneXXL which is easy to use and free.
Clonezilla is free and very powerful. http://clonezilla.org/ It is not very user friendly like Acronis True image is. But, it is free and it can do anything any cloning or imaging tool can do. It can image any OS like XP, Vista, Windows 7, or Linux.
Acronis free trial 15 days , Free to use 15 days http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/trueimage/
