I have had the same issue with the new beta driver (185.20). When I install a new one, i always start in safe mode, driver cleaner etc etc...

but with this whql driver everything is fine again, so this is a keeper for me

Thanks Killer C! This was the perfect fix for me, and easy too! Looks like it was a 181.20 driver issue, 180.84 is working perfectly for me too. thanks bro...

OOooops, the problem with the crashes was not the driver but an undepowered powr supply. I switched power supplies and all games are running great now. The Fallout 3 issue has been fixed in the 181.22 beta drivers. I haven't tried them yet, but I will:)

Anyone else notice this, as i had no problems in Fallout3 with either 185.20 or 181.20, and im using what is called a bad power supply manufacturer :S

    Before (WDM1.1)
    GRID [menu]40-37 [inside-car]31-44 [behind]38-63
    after (181.22)

Set Compatibility Mode on the setup.exe (inside the GTAIV folder on disk1) to "winxp sp2" and run it as an administrator. This way you can install GTA IV on Win7. Maybe this also works for mirror's edge, dunno though.

    GL!

I'm new here so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction
The release notes from the original post state that multiple monitors are now supported in sli however nvidia's official download does not mention this.
After installing the drivers i have not been able to enable multi-monitors while in sli.
Anyone have any info on this?
    Im using xp 64 bit and 2 8800 gt's
(Search button yields a million posts about using a 3rd graphics card blah blah)

I was afraid someone was going to say that, I hate vista 64 bit. Get a BSOD everytime I try to install it. Anyway, thanks for the answer

Why are these drivers even WHQL????

These drivers are so unstable it isn't funny.

When I had the 174.xx drivers installed they were rock solid with ETQW now with these drivers the game either randomly crashes or I get that stupid "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." error randomly.

And no before anyone asks, no my gfx card is on stock standard speeds and settings with no overcloking whatsoever.

    Try this:

How to Install GTA IV PC on Windows 7

    It worked for me!

If you have Aero disabled try enabling it. That fixes the problem for some people.

    Aero is enabled.

I seriously hope (but then again it is based on Vista) Windows 7 doesn't suffer from that stupid blah blah has successfully recovered.
