Works fine (so far) in BF2 Project Reality and AIX.

Best drivers for me so far, every game looked crispier and better , not much difference in fps maybe 4-5 more fps on the new ones was using 181 beta before. Gj Nvidia finally a decent driver

right, now the 8800 is throttling @ desktop, even with everything closed nothing open it wasnt throttling at all previously, weird drivers.

i don't game on this pc so i don't care, but i did notice better sharpness when working at desktop level, text seemed clearer compared to previous drivers which is nice.

i went back to 180.48 beta, they were great and i'm not going to upgrade again any drivers unless absolutely needed, pc is old and i use it just for LAN and other small things like downloading overnight.

not sure how the 181.20 passed the crappy WHQL thing lol

for gaming i've got my big fella over there

Not sure how any nvidia thing passes so-called WHQL, for that matter.. LOL!!

But seriously, so far so good with this version. I thought I was hallucinating with the desktop stuff and text looking better, but many seem to find the same thing.

Sorry to hear folks having trouble with UT3, so far I haven't had any crash issue but I seem to notice it bog down a bit now compared to 180.84. Hardware PhysX still on of course, but maybe Hardware OpenAL being off is why (which is necessary to avoid stupid BSOD in creative ha20x2k.sys).

Dunno where everyone say "IQ is good" cause imo the IQ is ****, loads worse then 177.23 driver, and im sticking with that one till something with beter IQ coming out, not seen such a bad IQ as in this 181.20 in a long time :puke2:

I know it's been said before but this little double context-menu item thing is pretty annoying.

I've blasted away registry entries, scanned through the startup list, and used the command prompt to try and see if (and delete) duplicate nvidia services were running, but to no avail.

BSOD, random fps dips and stuttering.

    Fantastic :p

You know, that's probably it, thanks! I like my startup registry to be totally uncluttered, but I bet I deleted that entry by mistake.

Your not the only one, that noticed it. I thought I was seeing things til i came back into the thread.Because I notice the sharpness too. Because I tried a couple of games right after I installed it before coming back here. I just iwsh UT3 ane ROTA was working.

So, what is final opinion from these drivers, better than 180.70(XP) or not?

Should i bother to change drivers? Any simracers here, how these work with GTR2/rFactor/RACE etc? And how about dual view-users, everything ok?

And is that throttle-problem true? With GTX 280 too?

not really i had allot of crashes with openal, the only solution or temporary one is to replace openal32.dll and wrap.dll from the new area51 look here for more info , i also saw another workaround just now here at this link newer versions than those of area51 :)

btw these drivers worked fine with ut3 no stutters, i used opengl for conformant texture clamp in nvidia cp it might help (winxp)

Make sure to use ShellExView (freeware app) and search for the corresponding entry for the 185.20 drivers that was left over. You can recognize it by simply looking at the version column. Disabling this entry will remove the duplicate context menu item. I have a better explanation of this upthread.

how would opengl texture clamp do anything to a D3d game?

How so? To be more precise, how do you, for a fact, know these are not
    Alpha?

That's what I was thinking. Unless it's openGL, but I thought UT3 was DX.
