Anyone having any temperature problems on thier 9800 GX2's on these drivers?

I'm finding i'm hitting 100+ with these, i know the 9800GX2 runs hot but at this temp you could fry an egg on the bloody thing.

I'm using rivatuner clocked at defaults, the fan is set to 100% as well but it still idles at 70-72 c!

That would be due to your Opteron. This game requires more CPU power then any game ever, it's not even close. I suspect nothing short of a game patch with optimization will help if that's the case. New drivers aren't likely to do much at all.

As to the driver 180.84 version 1, 2 & 3 stuff, since when did nvidia ever release a single driver with new versions like that? Wouldn't calling it 180.85 (etc) make more sense than confusing the masses? Me thinks it's just some repacks and the core driver is identical.

Well haven't heared of it yet, but you might want to double check by getting back 2 180.48 en see if the problem remains, BTW you have RivaTuner 221 because 220 seemed to have some issues :3eyes:

on XP64 a lot of improvement with this drivers.
but i have 2 broblem: in crysis there is too much AA effect that slow the game (when you choose x4 it seems like much more)
in BattleField 2142 there is some artefact like all drivers since 180.48 but less tan in beta 2

I don't post here much, but I thought I'd relate my experience:

I installed what was probably revision 1 or 2 of these beta drivers several times, always following my usual routine: uninstall -> restart into safe mode -> clean drivers -> restart -> install new drivers -> restart

And I experienced crashes, a lot of crashes. First, I'd be prompted to setup my dual monitors. I'd customize the settings, then click finish and my computer would lock up. I'd reboot, click on my desktop -> properties and I'd lock up the instant I clicked on the settings tab. So, they weren't wanting to support two monitors, I thought. Well, loading up a game crashed me instantly as well.

    So, no dice.

I uninstalled, and installed the modified drivers from the modified forums here. They worked pretty well though they didn't register a fair amount of my memory in GTAIV. Whatever, they were functional. :)

Now I see this latest revision, and feeling a little daring I installed them (I'm a bit of a masochist -- I'm upgrading my pc box next week so this is largely a waste of my time). They are perfectly functional, no crashes or anything so far.

    Cheers.

I am having crashes on my 8800GT 512 BFG OC that is caused by overheating with these drivers. Gave me a really good burn on my fingers trying to get the card out of the machine so it wouldn't damage my PCIe slot. I would stay away from these drivers till Nvidia puts up the final.

    Hope this helps someone. :)

Had that the first time I installed 180.84 the Uninstall & Cleaning wasn't 100%
So when I tried Again... it worked, but for now I gonna stick with .48 until someone with a EN8800GT 512MB gives me a greenlight for .60 ot .70

Right now I'm installing Prince Of Persia 2008 so I will check FRAPS on ALL MAX with 1920x1200 etc. if .48 is good enough for POP2008 :nerd:
