I'd get sound looping/skipping crashes in Left 4 Dead with the 180.48 drivers. Now I'm using the previous 178.24 WHQL drivers and the problem has been fixed. (Even with Multi-Core Rendering Enabled)

I installed yesterday and played fallout3 for a few hours with no problems. I was using 180.43 with no problems as well. I didn't see any difference from .43.

Hey guy make sure that it installed phys x
I went to GPU caps viewer and it said no phys x installed.
So I extracted the files from the driver and installed it. Now every program GPU caps, GPU-z says physx is installed. This it weird because in nvidia CP had it enabled like it was installed but was not.

    FarCry2 Benchmarks: 177.83 vs 180.48

I did a 3 run benchmark for each settings and DX version. No real groundbreaking improvements as you can see, but some small framerate gains.

I did notice the game feels smoother with 180.48, with the old 177.83 I experienced small hickups even at a constant 50FPS...

All is good so far, no more bsod related to the driver when folding protein GPU version. With 178.24 I wash having driver has stop responding and recover also BSOD.
Both crysis looks to have the same fps while gaming. This driver is a keeper driver for me.

Nor do we spell 'English' with a lowercase 'e', thank you ; ) I’d have (maybe) let you off if you’d italicised your error; however, on this occasion - no dice.

    Regarding the 180.48 drivers: they’re keepers : )

1024x768, sliders both at level 1, 4x AA. Go to Deck and back yourself into that corner with crosshairs aimed at the bottom of the light. This is one of several problem areas of the map. Depending on your cpu and graphics card, you will get from 40 to 75 fps. With the 180.48 drivers, your frame rate more than doubles(I get 165fps). I have a GTX280 and an e8400, both oc'ed. I play at higher resolutions, but everyone can make a personal comparison to this res.

I also got rid of it by going back to 178.24 drivers (which implies a software error, not lack of power) (also, the single gtx 260 card performs very well in long sessions of tough games (F3, Cod 4/5, FarCry 2, etc)).

180.48 crash my system at 1 min. as my winXP se3 appeared!
CRASH as it means. Everything freeze display corrupted.
So I moved back to 178.24. That's mean no 9800GX2 support from 180.xx drivers anymore.

There is something very wrong with the 180 series and GTX 260 SLI on Vista 64.

Every iteration crashes very soon into the game. Even the WHQL - it crashes immediately in windowed mode (what is the point of dual monitor if I can't play windowed?) and after a few minutes in full-screen mode.

Absolutely rock solid on 178.24 in SLI. It's just baffling.

I have a XFX 9800 GX2 Black Edition, and I've used ALL of the 180.xx drivers.... All work like a charm... I don't know what problems you other guys have been having, but it must be related to something else in your system.

What game are you talking about? I'm running two GTX260s in SLI, too, and don't have any problems in games like Stalker, Stalker Clear Sky, CoD W@W, Dead Space, Red Alert 3, C&C 3 Kane's Wrath, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Tomb Raider Underworld, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Grid, Assassin's Creed, CoD 4, Doom 3, Time Shift, Bioshock, FFOW, etc. all on Vista64, SP1, 180.48.

    Try this:

Download both the driver (180.48 WHQL) and the modded inf for your OS version (XP/Vista, 32-Bit/64-Bit) from here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=120

    Now do the following:
    1. Uninstall your current driver.
    2. Restart and boot into safe mode (F8).
    3. Run Driver Sweeper and maybe even CCleaner.
    4. Restart and boot to the regular desktop.
    5. Decompress the downloaded driver and copy the modded inf into that folder.
    6. Run the setup.exe you can find in that folder.
    7. Restart.

    Good luck! :D

Although performance seems smoother in Crysis Warhead, i'm getting quite alot of texture corruption with these drivers and my 9800gx2 :frown:
Like big purple lines across the screen and the sky being 2 different shades of colour in places with a clear cut line between.

So it seems that i can't find a solution for this crashing/black screen problem that i get with 180.48 drivers :(.Could someone help me,maybe there's a fix for this problem or something. My setup is XP SP3 and video card XFX 9600GT and after i power up the PC i get until the welcome screen where i log in and then my screen goes black and it remains like that no matter how many restart i give. The only solution was to boot up in safe mode and uninstall the driver and rollback to 178.13.Damn i really wanted to use the new drivers, but i can't get trough this problem with it.

I have the same setup and my system crashes when I launch World of Warcraft in Windowed Mode.

    Two GTX260's in SLI + Vista x64 with SP1.

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. When I go back to the older drivers (178.xx) SLI runs fine with that game. No crashing of my system.

EDIT:// Also I just wanted to mention that when I try new Drivers I always test them with default clocks on my CPU, RAM and GPU. I only start OC'ing again after everything is working fine (Which it isn't right now)

EDIT2:// Seems this issue with SLI + WoW is effecting a lot of people at the NVIDIA forums: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=82311

Effected cards range from 8800GTX to the newer 260 and 280's but only in SLI and with WoW (in that thread)
