so you cant have AA in any game? if so its possible that newer drivers just aren't good for such an "old" card. its a totally different architecture then 8 serius upwards, so they might have borked something in th drivers.
hard to say i've never owned that card, but i would be mad if i didn't have AA.

Guys, i cannont get into the control panel with these drivers in xp 64bit. I get this error message:

This error message comes up when ever i try to get into the nvidia control panel or physx control panel. This happens on the 180.42's as well. This is also a brand new install of xp pro x64 sp2 oem.

Maybe time to upgrade then! Tried falling back to the older 93.71's and Fallout 3 has AA enabled now but Call of Juarez still doesn't let me enable AA though? Picked up COD: World at War earlier today and tried that on the 93.71's and it 'looks' like 4x AA is enabled but can still some jaggies but they're not blatant!

Was going to get the new BFG GTX260 OCX edition from Aria in the UK when new stock comes in as they were the cheapest, but yesterday they just hiked the price from £223 to £258 so they can get f*cked now! Going to stick with my 7950 until greedy bastard stores drop the price on the 260's and stop ripping us off just because there's a demand!

I have been getting a ton of BSOD's so I think I am going to roll back to .82 and this has been with Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2

I've still got graphical bugs with the .43 drivers (and all previous ones) in CoD-WaW.

EDIT: Ahhh... Never mind this. It's just a setting mistake not a driver issue !!!

[EDIT by Cybermancer]Image deleted. Please don't post about CoD 5 before it's released.[/EDIT]

@Cybermancer: The beta is already available. So please re-edit my post again!!!

    Looool

Why do i need to install the AMD dual core optimizer when i try to install the 180.43 beta driver. From Nvidia and guru3d :S !.

After that the setup does not continue and i do not have a AMD proc. ! ... ffs

Extract the driver package somewhere (WinRar etc.) and run the setup from there.

When i play Pure with any 180.XX drivers, the riders are missing. Only the bikes are visible. lol.

running the 180.42's without issue here in oldies and new games (Half life, css, pure, quantum of solace, far cry2).

Infact, fc2 hasn't crashed once on my rig so I'm not risking running .43s

FC2 (GREAT GFX! but the travelling is getting a bit boring now. 20% done.)

Will see what tomorrow brings :)

yup the newer gtx260 is an amazing card. most come pre overclocked, and easily overclock 10-15% more on top of that, giving you better or equal performance to the stock gtx280 in 90% of games. the card is dead silent too. you won't regret getting it. even the stores know it, hence they are raising the prices :puke2:

Just ordered one, the BFG 216 core OCX edition

Going to be a tight fit in my Coolermaster Wavemaster case though, looks like it's going to be a shoe horn job :) PSU will be OK though, my 750w PC Power & Cooling has both 6+8 pin PCI-E power connectors!

Hopefully I'll get full AA back now, but the 97.31's are actually running better on my 7950 than the 180.43's as some of those 'casual games' now run full screen on my 22" Samsung rather than stuck in the top quarter of the screen like they did with 180.43 and games like COD:WAW and Frontlines:FOW 'seem' more playable at max settings albeit with no shadows or bloom!

Now the agony of waiting 1-2 days for the delivery van to arrive and 'someone' being in while i'm at work :O

congrats, here's hoping you won't run into any driver issues. youll need 2x6 pins for the card, and the card is 10.5" long. :)

I've had the 180.43 since it first appeared. GRAW wouldnt load properly (hungapp). Temps about 4-5c higher than earlier drivers. Uninstalled it and went back to 178.24. GRAW OK now, temps lower, and a general sense of relief this driver. Will wait for the next 180.xx driver though.
