Hi there, I try modify device id on 4850/4670 ,but it doesn't work. CCC display FIREPRO 8700/5700, but VP10 maya score is same as 4850/4670. So i think we could change our method of soft gl on 4xx0. Maybe 8.5X driver arch is different. Good luck.
softmod no working on 4xxx with the firepro driver. no any changes with performance even you got a firepro shown in CCC.
well, I can't read the release notes from work, but yes, I think it is those ones!! (they're a week old, no surprise I didn't know about them) let's see if someone can build a working firepro out of it's radeon counterpart, which, for the record, is as follows: FirePro 3D V3700 = RV620 = 3470 FirePro 3D V3750 = RV730 = 4670 FirePro 3D V5700 = RV730 = 4670 FirePro 3D V7750 = RV730 = 4670 FirePro 3D V7770 = RV770 = 4870 FirePro 3D V8700 = RV770 = 4870 FirePro 3D V8750 = RV770 = 4870 FirePro 3D V8700 = R700 = 4870X2 (ok, maybe 4870 or 4850 depending on MHz, but that doesn't affect the modding process)
we don't have results yet, but the real work has begun just 10 days ago, when firepro 8.54 drivers were released, so I wouldn't say it's impossible yet (the title in this thread comes from frustration a few weeks ago, when there were no firepro drivers to mod)
the main reason i've upgraded from 8800gts to hd4870 was firegl(pro) soft-mod, i need it for maya. hopefully someone can crack those new protections and give us a working script.
for me, i am just hoping crossfire will one day work for FireGL and I can just get another 3870 and cross them, since i don't game much and most of my work is on Solidworks. I can always get a 4850 at the same price but now it seems like crossfire and 4xxx mod is still an unknown yet so i will wait and see how everything plays out.
