    @Year:

I just re-ran it in the same place, overclocked my card, turned off aa and it was same as before at 1920x1200, so gpu limitation should no longer apply.

I did 3 screenshots with less stuff happening to show vsync is off and ran the same bench for 60 secs.

Min and average are up but max is still the same.

    2008-11-02 12:17:10 - Fallout3
    Frames: 3580 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 59.667 - Min: 48 - Max: 65

I'm gonna try runnning it at 1440x900.

LOl, screens and bench at 1440x1900 ( I'm not yanking your chain :bang:)

All benches were run while looking straight ahead.

What drivers are you using ?

And how did you disabled VSYNC ? With Rivatuner ?

lol my monitor native res is 1440x900 it's a 19" samsung widescreen lcd monitor, i really don't need more, infact if i can i'll stick to 19" monitors for life. :p

anyway that's very odd, i really don't know what else to say, if Fraps shows 100fps ingame but benchmark shows 65, must be Vista + FO3 + Fraps issue perhaps.

however as long as your game really feels liek 100fps as reported by Fraps during gameplay and not the benchmark, they you're fine and don't think about it, just enjoy the game and don't waste your time with this. ;)

    Catalyst 8.9

i haven't touched Rivatuner since the Geforce3 days, don't need it, my pc works perfectly without additional tweakage software, standard software + stock hardware has never given me a single problem and that's how i'll always do things. yee yee i'm a bit too old fashion but that's me, if it's not broken don't fix it.

    how did i disable Vsync?

i disabled it in the ATI CP and in the game options, that's all. :nerd:

    Windows XP 64bit.

Yeah, it's completely smooth so I'm just gonna get on with playing ;)

Mr.Bigtime: You can also turn msaa on from the launcher menu, also that ifps at 0 should mean it's off.

Damian: Indoor crashes can be caused by the game trying to save, there's alot about that earlier in the thread in a post by Anthraxpants.

it is in the My Documents, My games, Fallout3 folder..but BACKUP them before toying

    and UPDATE!!!:

that iFPSClamp=60 i think, slows down game TIME when it stresses..i mean..when tehre r too many stressing objects on screen, game time slows down..ahahah..so it gives u smooth game play...in my opinion it is a good trick..and not ruins a RPG..if this was Quake 3, it will indeed ruin but, this is already slow game.

But, i will make it 0 again :)

Anyone been to Rivet city? Made me realize this game could use a MASSIVE texture-overhaul. They weren't very top-notch, but not too bad either. But the walls of the carrier look like 128x128 textures last seen in the 3Dfx days...........

The ambient music doesn't sound like crysis to me.

FIXES FOR SOME OF THE CRASHES:

reportedly some of the crashes can be fixed by adding fallout3.exe to ffdshow video and audio decoders exclusion list("don't use ffdshow in:" option in configuration).
I can confirm that. It fixed those rare crashes on starting and exiting game. Now it's very stable.

Another possible fix is to use no-dvd cracked exe from Reloaded(can be downloaded from gamecopyworld).
it's the same exe, but with removed securomn and dvd-check.
    works beautifully.

stand in the river water for example you will see a red text on the upper part of the screen saying how many rads you get per second.
or "pray" for the atomic bomb at megaton since it's probably here where you got the quest anyway.
