Is this a normal score for this card? should i do a clean windows install?
was getting 11958 on my 8800gtx

    thanks

Yeah that is a very normal score for a dual core CPU at resonable clockspeeds (3.0Ghz-3.6Ghz) and a GTX280 at default clockspeeds. That is almost exactly what I was getting with similar settings. On the higher end I've gotten a bit over 18k with the same hardware, just overclocked a bit so there is quite alot of headroom in your system zimzoid. Keep pushing it!

My new PC arrives tomorrow and the company that is building it has already put it through 3DMark 2006 testing. I won't make this an official ranking score until I know precisely how much they've OC-ed the CPU/GPU but...

    E8600 @ ~3.7-4.0 GHz
    2 x HD4870X2

    Score: 20789

The score is fine seeing the E8600 is only at 3.7-4.0 ghz. Mind you two x2's is probably bottlenecked by a dual core a fair bit. I used to score around 22k with trifi and my E8600 at 4.3ghz so his score seems on the money to me.

    You're spot on with that score. Here's my E8600 @ 4.3 GHz with one 4870x2 oc'ed 800/955.

The x2's wouldn't be bottlenecked because the cpu only has 2 cores... what are you talking about.

I doubt the 2 cores are really the bottleneck. I think the actual clock frequency would be the actual bottleneck on 06.

First of all great work at breaking 12k for the first time, I bet its a great feeling! With that said it can be a real pain in the butt to find the correct link to use when posting your ORB validation links. When your logged into your Futuremark website go to the "ORB Home" link (this will bring up the section where you can view and edit all your results).

Once your at that section of the website click on the tab "All Results", this will show a list of all your previous ORB benchmark results. Now just look through this list and find the results you want to post at Guru3D. Once you find the proper results you'll notice something called "Compare Link" along with the link you want to copy and paste into this thread.

The only thing to keep in mind is that if your results are not set to "Public" this "Compare Link" won't be shown. Its very intuitive to switch results from "Private" to "Public", there is an option called "Make Public", just click it.

Well hopefully that helps to at least get you going in the right direction, feel free to ask more questions if you still can't find the correct ORB link.
