This is just a reference for me and ppl who search google for overclocking these components. And for me when i forget my clocks. And voltages. The stable and lowest temps I got were

    1733 rated FSB
    synced ram for stabilizability
    and the voltages are
    vcore 3.56
    NB volt 1.7

I don't like to do lots of ram overclocking

I was able to get 3.46 GHz, stable with low temps

Off topic, but I thought the 650/680 chipsets did not support Yorkfield processors?

What the!?!? Do you have any problems running the Q9450 on the Asus P5N-E??? The CPU-support list doesn't list any of the newer Quad-processors?

Whoa, take it easy! It is simply that Asus has repeatedly said that Yorkfield processors are not supported by nVidia 6 series motherboards.

You should understand that I only want confirmation that it actually works.

I am not accusing you of lying or anything, I simply would like to see some verification please.

If you do not wish to post a CPU-Z screenshot, then by all means, do not post a screenshot.

    EDIT:
By the way, I also wanted to ask you about the VCore you originally posted.
Is it supposed to 1.356V instead of 3.56V? And you actually are putting 1.7V to your northbridge?

Does seem strange that he's able to do this i agree, but a screenie would b nice. If i new for sure wud prob go out and buy one lol

How have you clocked it that much? these boards have always been complete ****e when OC'ing Q6600 & Q6700 due to the crap 3 phase power design has it not?

I also would like to be able to use a Yorkfield in my Striker Extreme.

If the OP has gotten it to work, maybe it is possible after all.

You know, Asus is not always forthcoming with information.

I cannot even find out if the new 1603 BIOS supports the E0 E3110 because they sent me the CPU support list for the wrong motherboard!

@vhalili, please post CPU-Z screenshots of your setup (multiple instances showing all tabs would be appreciated) and share your experience relating how you were able to get a supposedly non-supported processor to work.

    WTF?

If you are attempting to imply that the P5N-E SLI support Quad Core 45nm Intel CPUs, you are mistaken.

Did you check the link to the CPU support list I posted that you quoted?

Yes, there was no 45nm CPU's.

BUT did you check that link to P5N-E SLI's info? http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=473&model=1474&modelmenu=1

This clearly says that it supports Intel® next generation 45nm Multi-core CPU & Intel® Quad-Core.

I think that more likely there is error in CPU support list than in info page about product.

AND we have a guy here who says is running Q9450 and P5N-E SLI.

@vhalili: Validate your overclock and post your validation link so everyone can see that cpu and mobo you have work together.
