Here are a few pictures of spiders I've seen in and around my house. This first one was outside the back door making its web between a tree and the house. Unfortunately, the camera flash pretty much ruins the image, but hopefully you can still get an idea of what it was like. This spider was maybe three inches from leg to leg and had thick limbs that almost looked like armor plating. This next one was on the lower part of the pantry door in the kitchen, I grabbed a brand new broom we had and poked at it trying to either swipe it off or kill it. When I did that, the spider got forced/knocked inside the plastic wrapping over the broom bristles (it was literally brand new), so I took the broom outside and shook it off. The spider then crawled away, seemingly unharmed.
I ****ing hate spiders this thread gives me the willies! lol Just realised I've been here a year, yesterday! Cool.
I only know 3 that live in Arizona. Wolf spiders, Tarantula, and Black Widows Wolf Spider Tarantula Black Widow and just for kicks, spiders on drugs. http://youtube.com/watch?v=sHzdsFiBbFc
Funnel Web = VERY dangerous 2 hours after bitten = Death Red Back Spider Easy to kill so not that dangeruous....But If bitten you can not notice....Therfore giving you alot of pain later..
Although we don't have them where I live... I've stepped on a few of these. It's so disgusting. All dark outside, walking around already a bit tense.. and CRUNCH... Ewww... And you can't even do the "Oh, this is so yucky, good lord omg wtf..."-dance. Plus you can still feel the feet wiggle around if you are wearing sandals. *shudders* And you have to wipe to goo off.. I mean.. Come on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8DXzjvnzPk
I sat down on a bench in Silver Springs and one of these guys was about an inch from my head.I almost sh!t myself. Is that thing poisonous? I still get the willies thinking about it.
I'm new to Florida myself and just recently found out that those #$%#ers exist here. This is what I found on the web: Source: http://gosouthamerica.about.com/gi/...ts=0&zu=http://brazilianspiders.blogspot.com/
Yeah, and they all wiggle just as much when you step on it. Eww... But really yes, 10 feet. It's not a true spider. It's a solifugae, an order that contains both spiders and scorpions It's the ultimate creepiness.
I was working the other and found one, didnt know what it was and stuck a piece of moss in its face to see if it would pinch it. Let it go, but wanted to know if these things are poisonous. So, Are they poisonous?
Why oh why did I read this thread. I was thinking of having an early morning stroll with flip flops and all but wow I've got the willies now. The cable from my mouse reminds me of a spider leg now. Crap.
I'm pretty sure I took it in the foot from either a small recluse or a wolf spider a few years ago. Woke up and my left foot/ankle was all swollen, and I had a yellow mark about the size of a dime surrounded by a purple ring where the top of my foot meets my shin. It went down on its own, but I spent that day with my leg propped on a chair. Effing Montana.
