I am running the 177.66's too. So far, stellar driver! I have tried them all and this one is rock solid!

Did anyone try the 177.66 with Call of Duty 4 ? Are the resets gone ?

They are for me. Runs smooth as a babies butt. Haven't had a crash or driver reset yet. I played COD4 for 3 hours straight today. Devil May Cry 4 runs and looks AWESOME too.

3DMark Vantage Score is P13,200 with this driver too. Pretty damn good driver for me.

Yesss, I can confirm, the 177.66 is not resetting in COD4.
Finally a new driver that works well.

changed my mind about these drivers...

it is a great driver that doesnt crash, BUT...

i get strange artifacts and messed up shadows in some games like Age of Conan, and occasionally crysis.

Doesnt run Warcraft3 in SLI mode, needs to be disabled or gets extreme flickering (not that the game needs SLI, its old... but a driver adjustment is needed for the game profile in the nvidia control panel to run it properly)

i'm going back to 174.74 WHQL until the final version of 177 comes out :)

I don't think anyone can really answer the question "which driver is good for xxxx (insert piece of hardware). Once you move past the official WHQL driver, it's really down to how your specific system reacts to the driver. I personally have had not problems at all with any of the 175.xx or 177.xx drivers (Vista 64). Currently I run 177.66 and everything is butter smooth, including Crysis, Grid, Vantage.

Totaly agree with the above statement, hence the reason i always try to say "on my system" in the threads for best drivers.

I thought this driver was excellent at first, boosted my FPS on Crysis but I had been messing about on the tank level & not on foot. When I jumped out & selected cloak all was o.k until I threw a grenade or fired a gun & then a weird graphic artifact appeared momentarily on the r/hand side. No problems uncloaked as far as I can see.
This is the first such thing I have ever had regardless of various drivers so I had to return to 175.16 unfortunately (XP32) .:bang:

yea i saw similar graphics anomalies...

tiny errors like that but nevertheless... i game a lot and want it to be flawless ;D

174.74 still the driver for me.

until they finalize the next release

Yes me and there even better. All issues in crysis gone, DV now working in control panel and every one of my games runs slick as.

Just crazy it's like these bloody things are aimed at the GX2 lol, not that im complaining

There is no big different between 177.66 and 177.70 in Crysis benchmark. There is a little increasing in min and max FPS.
    177.66-37.48 Avg [IMG] 177.70-35.95 Avg[IMG]

    But in Vantage is better:
    177.66 - 15239 [IMG] 177.70 - 15307 [IMG]

177.70 made a big difference to me, got my highest ever on Crysis bench @ 49.55 FPS
1280X1024 XP32 playing on high with Cuban/Ultima's config
    Previous best 45 FPS.

No glitches, seems better smoke effects also,

Edit: getting 53 FPS now so even better

    I recommend 177.70 for GX2 HIGHLY

    especially on Vista 64bit.

all my graphical anomalies are gone that were in 177.66 driver. no resets, crashes, blue screens, etc...

only problem is for some older games (like Warcraft3) you have to set the profile of the game to use 1 GPU instead of SLI in the nvidia control panel. Otherwise it runs choppy and appears as if its processing the frames in "split-frame" mode... (at least on my setup)

    Hello,
I ve just build an 9800gx2 quad sli pc or at least trying to .
The problem is that when I enable quad sli using 177.66 and 177.70 (which seems to be the best drivers for a single 9800gx2) cannot run anything.
I got black screen in every application I am trying. While with 175.19 everything seems to run ok but not too much of good results in fps.
Any idea of what is wrong or what I am doing wrong?Any other driver
    suggestion for best results?

Yeh these drivers don't have any quad si profiles in them . You will have to use the 175's until official nvidia release i bet.

Nice. You play AoC right? Have you tried doing the Villas on Shader 3 and if so, is the performance issue that started after 175.19+ gone? Thx
