That’s right, it’s back. The game that started the shooter revolution Wolfenstein. 10 pages of exclusive info on the new game from them and id Software. Found out what those crazy Nazis are up to this time.:banana::banana: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=326670
WOW, I just remembered good old days playing Wolfenstein 3D and offcourse Return to castle Wolfenstein. Man I am keeping my hopes up for this game. Now somebody just needs to hunt those scans from that magazine! EDIT: Found them, but only 5 pages:
Won't be a system hog either, since they're using D3 engine still, and it even looks good. Looking forward to this.
As mentioned in the other thread, I'm really looking forward to this title. RtCW was a true gem in my eyes, and I hope Raven is able to carry on the legacy!
I'm sure it doesn't as they said that Quake Wars would be the last game to use the Doom 3 engine. *edit* Although on further inspection of the shots, have a look at the hands, exactly like the hands in any Doom 3 engine game.
There have been info out on Wolfenstein before, saying that it will be built on the D3 engine. Now hopefully, it uses Megatexture just like Quake Wars, for easy and nice visuals.
rtcw for me was one of the best shooters... until the monsters appeared. didnt really enjoy that plus those nasty and annyoing ueber soldiers, but its still a great game which had and still has fantastic graphics for its time. unfortunately it seems there will be monsters again, maybe even more. not good if you ask me but we shall see
Been playing RtCW since the day it came out and I still do play to this very day. I don't think incorporating the D3 engine into this game will improve it, I just think it will just ruin it. Although I would like to see improvements in the graphics, but the game play is what does it for me.
I remember I was a bit thrown off by the übersoldaten to begin with, but after a while when you got better weapons, they weren't really a problem anymore. The occult setting of the game plays a large role, and I think it worked pretty well. Though I have to say my favourite level in the game was that sniper mission, where you cleaned out those airfields filled with elite fallschirmjagers
It's true! Fortunately though, this time nobody will stick a gun to your head and force you to buy it.
I doubt a wolfenstein game even counts as another ww2 game... it really is its own little kind of game. Looks good though, cant wait... I remember how awesome the MP was in RTCW... if they manage the same awesome team based missions and class system... ill be playing for a long time.
