Although its the same avivo introduced in the x1000 series , which encodes videos on gpu(so it says, didn't do it in my testing) , wasn't updated after that, but has made a comeback with HD4800 series . Hopefully finally this software whill reach where it was supposed to be. Download from here In my testing, it used my quad core cpu 60% and with gpu-z showed gpu-load 0% , but the transcoding was fast. Will have to test . Anyways enjoy .
will it work on non 4xxx cards? the old encoders where released for HD1xxx but ran on almost anything, even nvidia. they where not using the GPU at all, doing all encoding just with the CPU. so: is it true GPU powered movie encoding or just fake again? gpu-z indicates the later... zuz
@ the General No no they dont its just for ati's encode and audio/video in out functions as i see your running with an GF 6200 it'll have no effect on your setup what will have an affect on your play Speed / Quality is a faster CPU and another 512MBs of ram (if you can find it)c:
Avivo is updated every month, like the Catalyst drivers and it has been working for all x1000 series and higher.
No reason really, I just happened to notice it, thats all. I occasionally use the hardforums myself as well as The Vista Forums. Joe
yeah, you can watch a 2 hour movie in just 30 minutes. am i the only one who found this question odd?
