nice clocks on your card do you have after market cooling. mine wont budge from 621/1458/2000:thumbdown

All 8800GTX's I've messed with and seen from others (on average) max out at around 648/1512 on the core/shador... But on each one I've had have trouble with 1000/2000 memory. On stock cooling and fan speeds.

Have you tried just getting the core/shador up to that the 648/1512 limit without overclocking your memory?

tried 621/1512/2000, 648/1458/2000, 621/1458/2016, 648/1512/2000 all a no go. none ati tool stable. @648 i get hard locks in game edit that is why i bought the superclocked version 621/1458/2000 up from 575/1350/1800 reference. seemed like a good increase for 20 bucks. but it is ati tool stable 12 hrs at my stock 621/1458/2000 for `12 hours though

Like I said, try it without clocking the ram...

I see... So is it the "KO ACS3" or the "Superclocked" version? A stock 8800GTX has the ram running at 900/1800 - not 1000/2000...

If you "down-clocked" your ram to around 975/1950 you will probably be able to raise your core/shader higher. This is consistant with my attempts to overclock these cards. A memory clock of 1000/2000 prevents the core/shaders from clocking up to 648/1512.

So if you want your core/shader higher you are probably going to have to lower the memory speeds a bit. You would probably see more gains in benchmarks and game FPS with the higher core/shader vs the memory running so high.

i will give that a shot. better results with core, shader high then memory like you said

No problem... Wish it had worked though :(

You really wouldn't have seen much of a gain anyway. Every little bit helps in some situations, but stability is always preferred of a few FPS gain lol...

i have a tax return coming soon and i was thinking about sli 8800gtx and a new psu. i know i would be cpu bottlenecked but when i build a new system i would pull the 8800gtx`s out of this system put my sli 7800gt`s back in this system and have 3 rigs

Yes, I have a HR-03 Plus with a Thermaltake A2017 and I modified a DTek UniSink to replace those little heatsinks.

I also flashed it with the eVGA ASC3 KO BIOS:

All that aside, you can never have too many sharders...

i heard "sharders" reproduce exponentially in the wild. may have to get me a good fishin pole and net
