Age of Conan officially out!

The real-time combat isn't as good it seems! You still have to mash buttons.... just more in any other MMO's.

 

I'd imagine that Nvidia are working on a driver as we speak, shadows can't cause that much decrease in performance.

 

I'd like to see a sort of Oblivion combat system.

 

Is there any way to play a trial version of this game? I seriously won't pay for a game that I don't get addicted to anyway As was the case with Guild Wars <.<

There's buddy keys that come with the full game, but I don't think they can be used yet.

Well like I said, I am using an old driver in 163.71. It was always the most stable and I never saw a reason to upgrade.

I pre-order the game and should get it tomorrow. I just wish they had a lifetime option like LOTRO.

 

Well i'm using 174.93 and they are 100% stable, i'd give them a try but I think we'll have to wait until Nvidia release a new driver specifically to address Age of Conan's shadow problems. Well i'm buyin it tomorrow so i'll let you know how my drivers handle it.


Oh dear I read that funcom are making a 360 version, I really hope they keep the two communities split, there's nothing worse than xbox live idiots moaning and swearing.

I hope you can add your own music to the game, clearly adding the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack would be great!

 

I can honestly say I have never seen nVidia drivers released with specific fixes for specific games, so I think we'll be waiting for quite a while.

Especially since im not even sure the shadows causing FPS drop is driver related.

 

There's be loads of beta drivers to address problems in games, just read the release notes there's usually something in them that addresses a specific problem in a game.

Also try turning AA off, shadows on and bloom off.

 

Just got home and it was lying on the kitchen table, looking at the the back of the box it says that you need 32Gb of storage (OMGWTF!).

 

Well, mines needs 25gb once installed.

 

Been playing the early access since the 17th of May & I'm loving it got my Barbarian to lvl 57 so far on the EU-Fury PVP server .

PS As of today my AoC folder stands at 26gb exactly & fully upto date .

 

I would imagine the 32gb recommended space is taking into account the space needed for future updates like dx10 and content.

 

Lazy? Do you know how much work goes into an MMO?

Sure I love SP games as much as the next guy but theres something about gathering a group of adventurers and conquering some sort of dungeon or whatever.

Having said that, Ill stick with WoW or switch to WAR if anything. I dont like the graphics on AoC, as it looks too much like LOTRO and probably plays similar.

Collector edition gets 5 buddy key. Normal version only 1 key.

 

Played the closed & open beta for the last year or so & know all the quests etc .
