Are these drivers good for Assasins Creed? I have many problems with AC ... with the 169.21 drivers i get a blue screen with "nv4_disp.dll" and with the other driver it crashes after 5-10 minutes and I am on the desktop...

    My System: Win XP SP2
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Prozessor 6000+
    NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
    2 gb Ram
    Asus M2N4-SLI

I think AC(Asassins Creed) is buggy on the PC.
I had the same, sometimes i could play 6 hours nonstop, and sometimes it crashed to desktop after 2 minutes or even total freezeups, never had bluescreens tho. but i think its the game itself since i never had problems with any other games almost.

I think AC needs to release a patch?

Sent PM too. Seems like a pretty good driver so far.

If you replace the original .exe of Ass.Creed with the cr##ed one it will run fine and without crashes, even in fullscreen at high resolutions without the need of Alt+Enter at the startup!

Hey hoy SLI video playback crash seems to be fixed in this driver! All clips previously crashing under minute or so played flawlessly for hours with this set SLI ENABLED.

x8diesel you mean replacing original .exe with cracked .exe or what? If copy protection causes the crahes at startup then big FU to the ubisoft, from the heart.

i think its the other way around.. not the protection but bad cr*cks that cause it :)

nevertheless this is still a good driver in my opinion

Drivers work perfectly fine for me no problems at all. DVD playback, games, desktop all fine. I do not notice too much of a difference though from 174.74.

I can't set gamma to anything higher than 1.50. Does anyone know how to fix this and since what version is this the limit?

Yes I do. I use it in app profiles for games that look incredibly dark compared to the desktop.

Just tried assassin's creed. Hard lock had to force reset.
Now to go back to older drivers :bang:

I tried it yesterday, 3DMark06 run fine, 50 pts more than 174.74, but hard locked on Call of Juarez DX10, crysis worked fine, then when i turn AA on on crysis, got a hard lock again. 174.74 is good for me now.

So since you are able to enable SLI, I assume you are on vista? Well, good to know it's a step in the right direction concerning a fix for the video playback corruption/system freezes, but now to wait for one that works right on xp (for most on xp, enabling SLI results in black screen and then driver boot failure).

Ya, Vista 64bit ultimate with SP1. But let me say that I'm not very optimistic about this. Probably even nvidia itself doesn't know how the problem got fixed in this leaked build and future drivers will still have build in crash-functions :p
