    Well my preorder R6Vegas2 arrived today 1 day early !!!!
    Installed it and noticed pretty quickly that it artifacts very badly with my 9800 GX2 on some levels. (just tried terrorist hunt so far)

    Game is patched to 1.01.
    Tried driver 174.44 & 174.88, both do the same.

    There is no profile for this game in either driver yet so.......
    1) I tried making my own
    2) renamed r6vegas2_exe to r6vegas_exe to use that profile setting
    3) renamed to Unreal_exe to use the unreal 3 profile setting
    4) tried single gpu & multi gpu settings on all above
    = still artifacts badly

    This is my 2nd 9800Gx2 and both cards have also artifacted badly whilst playing wmv/mpg/avi files and frozen the computer.

    I hope its drivers but it could also be some imcompatiblity issue with my system / or the bios's etc etc as to have x2 cards do the same is odd.

    Anyone else having these issues ? or do I need to rma this sucker for a 2nd time

    Might wanna even try those new 174.93s that leaked... they have vegas 2 profile now -

    - <PROFILE Label="Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2">
    <APPLICATION Label="R6Vegas2_Game.exe" />
    <APPLICATION Label="R6Vegas2_Launcher.exe" />
    <APPLICATION Label="RainbowSixVegas2_SADS.exe" />
    <PROPERTY Label="aa_behavior_flags" Value="0x00000001" Default="0x00000001" Itemtype="predefined" />
    </PROFILE>

    Thanks - looks like its just a driver issue then, was worried I had another faulty card on my hands.

    Cool - i'll try these see how I get on.

    OKAY.
    Driver 174.93 did not fix the issue. The texture corruption was still there.
    There is a R6 vegas 2 profile in the drivers, however it does not have an SLI profile.
    In the multi-gpu performance tab there is no 'Nvidia Recommended Setting - Multi-GPU' like for most other games i've got, so it is up to the user to define what profile to use.

    With 'use global setting' for this option (the default in R6V 2 profile) perfomance is good but the texture corruption is there.
    If I force 'split frame rendering' then the perfomance drops but the textures are fine.
    All other settings - single gpu, alternate frame rendering 1 & 2 have the texture corruption.

    So it looks like its an SLI issue and Nvidia need to setup the SLI profile in the drivers for this game.

    Same here. Tried 174.93 and SLI not working properly same thing you got. Dig up 173.67 they work fine, but you will need to add a profile for vegas 2 and assassin's creed. Or just copy the entries from the nvapps.xml file over.

    Well using the 173.67 and they seem to work well.
    No artifacting in R6V 2 at all.
    Had to manually add the a profile for it.

    Noticed 1 thing though = In 3d settings>Mulit gpu perfomance mode> theres is just a blank box for all games. Think theres a few issues with the control panel in this driver release.
    This however dosn't seem to affect performance as just left at default everything seems to run sweet games wise. (The profiles are in the NVAPPS.xml which is what counts suppose)

    Still getting crashes when playing wmv & avi files though - happened with all drivers so far..
    hmmmmm

    Here is the problem. Vegas 2 1.0 doesn't support SLI, so on the 9800 GX2 is wasn't working with any driver, so no flashing. Patched to 1.01 only driver 173.67 works in SLI with a user added profile for Vegas 2. I just added the Vegas 2 exes to the Vegas 1 profile.

    174.93 has a vegas 2 profile but its not setup for SLI either.

    Nvidia has been notified of this.

    I did similar.
    I copied the Vegas 2 profile from 174.93 and added it to the nvapps.xml on 173.67.
    But then copied the Multichip_rendering_mode string from Vegas 1 and added it into the Vegas 2 profile.
    Which leaves me with this
    <PROFILE Label="Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas">
    <APPLICATION Label="R6Vegas_Game.exe"/>
    <APPLICATION Label="R6Vegas_Launcher.exe"/>
    <PROPERTY Label="multichip_rendering_mode" Value="0x0240000E" Default="0x0240000E" Itemtype="predefined"/>
    <PROPERTY Label="aa_feature_bits" Value="0x00000145" Default="0x00000145" Itemtype="predefined"/>
    </PROFILE>
    <PROFILE Label="Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2">
    <APPLICATION Label="R6Vegas2_Game.exe"/>
    <APPLICATION Label="R6Vegas2_Launcher.exe"/>
    <APPLICATION Label="RainbowSixVegas2_SADS.exe"/>
    <PROPERTY Label="multichip_rendering_mode" Value="0x02400001" Default="0x0240000E" Itemtype="predefined"/>
    <PROPERTY Label="aa_behavior_flags" Value="0x00000001" Default="0x00000001" Itemtype="predefined"/>
    </PROFILE>

    I did this because know Vegas 2 uses different AA method than Vegas 1, and didn't want to use the Vegas 1 AA settings in Vegas 2 :3eyes:

    Anyway by forcing sli mode AFR 2 (best performance for me) ,running at all high settings, level 4 AA (X8 AA), 1680x1050 and just getting a solid 60FPS with vsync on.

    Using the same setup as Vegas 1 I get 150 - 180 FPS steady 1680x1050 4x AA. Using the profile from 174.93 I get about 120 fps.

    Alright, I also got the 9800 GX2 since thursday. I had the same problems like mentioned above. I also had artifacts in "kane & Lynch". I used the newest drivers 174.74. I tried the .93 and 85 but that didn't help.

    Right now I am using the drivers that came with the card and everything works fine, they are 173.67

    Multi-GPU is activated. "Kane & Lynch" is still choppy, though, stutters all the time, but I somehow got the feeling that that is caused by the game. I am using Vista.

    In Crysis I have some strange effects when I am attakced by an alien in the spaceship environment. Nowhere else. Strange. ^^ I hope nVidia releases some n1 drivers soon.

    Cool, i'll give that profile a try then :)

    I'm using vsync so haven't looked at max frames I only look for dips below 60 fps.
    I noticed that if I use the profile Vegas 1 from 173.67 and leave at its default sli setting (multi gpu) I get dips as low as 30fps in some areas.
    If I change the sli profile to AFR 2, I never dip below 60fps - unless going through a checkpoint (where its loading the next bit of level)

    Anyway initial artifact problem is sorted thanks for the links m8.

    I must say 173.67 is awesome for DiRT aswell.

    Only problem with 173.67 is some quirks whilst 3d settings in control panel.

    I see they are xp drivers. Must not be an issue with vista. New i was missing something lol.

    What performance do you get in dirt. The reason i ask is becuase the drivers on my disc seem to make things worse.

    Well I game with vsync on so I measure in terms of if the frame rate dips below 60 FPS or not, any thing above I don't care about.
    1680x1050 all maxed, xAA.

    174.74 sometimes dips to 54 in certain areas - and I definatley feel it, as in a jerk or stutter.
    Also on some levels the incar view seems to stutter, even if FPS at 60fps ?

    173.67 Always rock solid 60 fps, seen it dip to 59 once or twice, but don't feel any jerk or stutters
    Incar view no stutter at all.
