    * GeForce 8300
    * GeForce 8200

    Ahhhh... nVidia and their dirty tactics. If only ATi was up on their game so that I could buy one of their cards and not deal with this driver maddness!

    Yeah its another kick in the teeth for those who don't own a 9 series, as these are only WHQL'd for them.

    Hey guys!
    I just wanted to ask as I down loaded these drivers (XP32bit) cause I have two BFG 8800GT OK 512's that are over heating and fragmenting. I guess I shouldn't expect a lot of an over clock from them. But wanted to ask if any one has a suggestion on better drivers?
    My highest is about (Rivatunner) 720/1000 have the shadders linked for now.
    If this is not the right spot to ask say, and I'll post a new thread for it.
    Any help, thanks!

    I have to say that in relation to driver releases I prefer the way ATI does it, they may not be perfect but at least they support most of there graphics cards and have a regular driver release schedule.

    to me WHQL means trouble most of the time and those aren't even certified for our GTS/GTX variants so betas ftw if it ain't broke don't fix it lol

    oh and let me add the 174.74 betas are still some of the best drivers to date for me :nerd:

    Just take the nv4_disp from the beta 174.74 and put it in the extracted 174.74 WHQL,and will work on any card...:biggun: I'm using it right now.

    The unofficial betas contained nvucode.bin, which is responsible for H.264 decoding, whereas the official betas don't.

    So you can use the betas instead.
    They are absolutly identical... except for the WHQL certification.
    (which is gone, when you do something to the INF ;-)

    The nvucode.bin is only for G80... 8800GTS320/640/GTX... to fix the damaged VP1.
    But these cards are not supported in the WHQL ones... so there is no need for this file.

    Even for 9x00-Users... the whql changes NOTHING to the betas!

    I'll stick with the unofficial betas then. they're working like a charm here.

    I modded the INF for the WHQL on the nVidia page which is only listed for 9 series stuff 174.74 windows XP.

    Works great. Good framerates compared to Forceware 169 I was using before
