Whats good? I did a search and did not find what I was looking for, thanks in advance for the sugestions!
I recommend my cooling, though it's kind of expensive total. Thermalright HR-03 Rev A + Antec 120mm TriCool Fan Idle: 35C Load: 44C 810/1998/2000mhz clocks
^^Weee....!! The cooler looks nice along with the LED fan from Antec!! During Load: 44 degrees??? Tell me have u also applied thermal paste on the GPU surface??
When I get my 8800 GTS (G92), I'm gonna look into getting the Accelero S1. If you can find it, it's terrific cooling for sub-$25. Throw in the dual-80mm fans for $8, and you've got pretty affordable aftermarket cooling. The Thermalright HR-03, Zalman VF1000, and Thermaltake DuOrb are also options worth considering.
Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 revision 2. You need the revision 2 to work with the G92 cards. Cheap as chips and is a very good passive cooler. Even better with a quality 120mm fan on it. Just ordered one from my local dealer as well as a Nexus 120mm PWM fan so it can be regulated via rivatuner. http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=147
Hello, I am now trying to sort out just what you have written up there - How to regulate a 120 mm fan (Noctua NF-P12-1300) attached to Accelero S1 using RivaTuner? Is it somehow possible to set up RivaTuner to understand that the default fan for the video card is attached for example to SYS_FAN1 connector on my MB and let it control the speed? Or is the only option to use a PWM fan and connect it directly to the GPU? Thanks for any help.
Honestly speaking I think the stock cooler is good enough unless you volt modded your card. Its barely audible even at 50%. Aftermarket coolers are good to cool the GPU core down but I've not seen any of them who expels heat out to the case. I've used after market coolers before and they really cools the GPU down but at the same time the heat got trapped inside the case and system temp went up. Make sure your case air flow is good before considering aftermarket cooler.
My Fiancee bought me a Zalman ZV1000 to go on my G80, then I bought my 9800GTX G92 before she gave it to me... I had to cut slices off of an old AMD heatsink and lap them smooth, then sekisui tape them onto the MOSFETs on the card. The core idles at 38C, and loads to 65C... BUT, that is with the fan barely moving, and overclocked to 800/2000/2400 !
