Just read 9800GTX = high clocked G92 around 850mhz on vr-zone and they are usually accurate on their reports . I have never skipped a geforce series before, and had one from 1- 8. Geforce 9 is very disappointing, there's no big advancement in architecture. It feels like all we have been getting is higher clocked geforce 8 series cards and that has been out for how long? I really hope Ati can capitalize on something

At least in other years each series was different from one another. Geforce 8 and 9 is not really different.

I'm sorry, how can you backup your claims if you purchased an FX card which was probably the worst card on the planet. You're making claims about a card that isnt even launched yet!.

In addition Nvidia never really had a Geforce 1 product, it was a combination of the following:

    GeForce 256
    GoForce 3000
    GoForce 2150
    GoForce 2100

    Kindest regards

    Zoozer

i dont wanna have a obsilute card every fricking two months.
and about what you guys were saying
    the 78gt to 79gt was a bigger jump from 88gts320/640 to 88gt/gts512.
what are they going to put out cards now for every 10 dollars above 100?
cram more cards out that are the same mostly?

Look at the last line in the chart.
    It's all speculation anyway.

I think I'm gonna stick with my modest 'G80' unless I see something I really like in reviews for the new cards.

I am. I will not do upgrades that are not going to at least double-triple the performance.

Doubt I will upgrade, unless there is some MAJOR performace increase. No change really, only two cards on one...most likely I will try and hold out until the next round of cards!

Im defo gona give them a miss. I mean apart from crysis the 8800 cards future proof for a few year or 2 . I mean if you look at the way things are going we are gona be sharing alot of games with the next gen consoles. And judgeing by most peoples spec's in these forums they is no real need for better gfx cards at the min.

What i am trying to say really is that i doubt they will be another game like crysis that needs better than the 8800 series until next year. Even far cry 2 is been made into a console game.

Those of you that have G80/G92 cards would likely be best served just waiting to see how the 9 series performs. Chances are, your cards will still slice through every game (except Crysis) for even close to another year. Once they start to feel the pressure from the latest games, pick up another and SLI them. If my 7800GTX's can still roll through games (screw Crysis lol) without a hiccup, there's no reason the G80/G92 cards wouldn't be as well.

Also, its highly unlikely the 9 series will be that prevalent over the 8 series. With the advent of the 8 series, and namely the G80 cards, we saw an unprecedented increase in GPU power from the previous high end cards. As its already common knowledge, even SLI 7900GTX's are still not as fast as 1 8800GTX. The increase from 7 series high end to 8 series high end is the largest we've seen since the FX days, if not ever!

Sorry I did not feel it was a poor performing card. At that time, I wasn't even playing most games in DX9 because most games were still DX8 and my 5950U ran great.

I consider geforce DDR to be geforce 1 :)

If 9800GTX is at least 30% faster than an overclocked G92 GTS @ 800mhz then I will eat my socks
