With my EVGA 8800 GTS 512, the card idles at around 42-45C, I did move my fan speed to 60% though.

I have a BFG It Idles at 52c only thing running is this site.
I have a Fan below the 8800,not a slot fan, uses one screw from the MOBO,the it's a flex fan,can point it in any direction.I use Rivatuner 8800 fan is at 30%
When I played CRYSIS before I had good old Rviatuner, the temp. up to 92c.BFG said that's too much.BFG said try to keep temp. under 80c.
Now with Rviatuner I put the 8800 fan up to about 57% temp. gets around 73-78c.
I did crank up the fan to 59% temp. under 78c.
With the flex cool lite fan under the 8800 bring the temp. down a few degrees.

    Temps seem fine.

Load temps are the most important though.

Even on watercooling in line with my cpu, My 8800gtx idles in the low to mid 40s
and load is high 50s, so on air yours sounds about right.

90-100 whilst high is ok for the 8800gtx, i guess the GT should be a touch lower though.

Increase the fan a little and try to get 50s??

Stock cooling set to 99% fan speed both cards idle about 45c and tops out around 65c when I checked last night. Fan speed default of 45% or something idles at 51c.

The problem with these cards is there coolers. They tend to run hot to very hot. The new G92 core which is the same as the 8800gt is supposed to be able to handle the higher temps. But as with anything, the lower the better.
My cards too, idled at around 50 c. I swapped out the coolers for Thermaltakes duorb coolers. Now 64 c is the hottest my cards have been since the change and thats after 2 hours of Crysis @ clocks of
702/1782/2008. I've been able to run at clocks of 756/1890/2106 but I'm still testing these speeds for stability. So far so good....we'll see. FYI stock clocks are 625/1566/1800. Oh yeah, you can't even hear the fans on these duorb coolers. (2x80mm fans each)
