i know i was really hoping the demo wouldn't end were it did i wanted to fight at least one alien but over all the demo is absolutely out of this world, like u said..

well im also now hoping that they fix the 64bit version and then all us 64bit games get a few extra frames to play with

    JOHN

what are all the settings u run at in dx10 as im ocing my card when i get psu back and i would like to estimate mine to urs to see how much i could gain

I run everything at very high, except Post Processing which is at high and Shadows, which is at medium, I think. I run 1680x1050, 16x AF, no AA, and I very rarely saw it drop below 30FPS.

I don't quite get it why everyone GeForce 8800 user is having problems. I can run it in 64bit mode (full screen and it uses both CPU cores) everything at medium expect shadows and post processing are set to low and textures to high and it is pretty much smooth and playable all the time at 1440x900. Sound are set to high too. Driver problems I guess.

I have to say that I was completely blown out by this demo, I will definitely buy this game. I loved every nanosecond I spend with this game!

64 bit doesn't work for me either, and the only way I can get 32 to work is to disable SLI...

    does look awesome though...

how to keep shadows at LOW setting and again more fps

find the sys_spec_Shadows.CFC file same place as PostProcessing mod few pages back and edit these settings

this way u get the boost as if u dint have shadows turned on but i at least get low res shadows

had problems running the game in DX10, so just did DX9 with high settings, i kinda expected the game to be so demanding. I mean its got easily the best visuals i have seen on the PC so far, Game plays really well just a shame about the performance.

The newest beta drivers didnt do that much either and the game is ever so slightyl slower in 64-bit i found, crytek said that it would run faster in DX10 and on 64-bit did they not lol sounds like rubbish to me.

    1- how u get vista64 to run
2- to run dx10 u have to go to were u installed the game find the crysis32bit.exe and run that it will auto goto dx10 for u

the dx10 in the vista games menu doesnt work for me too

there are 2 exe's, one in the Bin32 folder and one in the Bin64 folder, run the bin64 one.

I seem to be getting dodgy grahpic problems in DX10 mode aswell, doesnt happen if it run it from the games section in vista on DX9.

    GOOD
    performance in dx10 is terrible

even on medium details, i got strange slowdowns even when looking at the sky o_O

i think we'll see a lot of driver releases in few days.

cause these drivers are not really doing a good job with crysis...

anyway i'mplaying in dx9 all maxed, windows xp average of 38 fps, in dx10 same settings average of 15fps ----.----"if i raise to very high in dx10 average of 10fps...

    Runs like mud on 7800GTX

    Running on Vista 32bit
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
    7800GTX with latest beta drivers
    2GB Ram

Runs like crap. The only playable configuaration where I get a decent frame rater is 800x600 on low to medium settings!
And then it just looks like the original Far Cry if not worse!
I'll not be buying this yet. Perhaps wait a couple of years and pick it up on a budget label and give it a run on future generation hardware.

seems the general feel is that the game runs a fair bit better in XP than vista.

tried demo, 1680*1050 everything on high (very high not selectable for me for some reason) only shadows on medium, no AA, still using FW 163.76, runs between 20-30 fps, yet game feels surprisingly smooth despite the low frame rate
