Hmm, not that many people on the team? Folding for a couple of days and I'm at #125 with 6 WU...

HA ! #115 with 1 WU. When you reach around #100 the climbing will probably come to an halt though.

    A question:
On the pc you are having trouble with are you running the GPU client?
As far as I'm aware you can't run SMP and GPU clients on the same pc, you need to leave a core available for the GPU client, so a no nonsense console client and a GPU client would work on a Core2Duo system.

Other things to try, the latest SMP release (Stanford d/loads page)
During install add only name and team, leave all settings as default to ensure the client functions correctly. (other options can be altered later using the -configonly flag)

I don't think he can be using the GPU client - his specs say 7800GTX :(

Also, I thought you *could* run the two together as each would just get scheduled by windows in a 'round-robin' fashion? (If anybody want to lend me the kit to try this out, I'd be happy to give it a shot ;) )

Im pretty sure you can run both, either the smp client and gpu or two or more standalones with the gpu client.

There we go - had to reinstall Windows (it was borking up several things, but I never thought it could get this bad). The SMP client is running and we'll see how this does in the morning.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was basically unplayable, which is what finally prompted me to reinstall. Now it runs quite nicely. :D

    Sorry mate :(

what info did the fahlog say?

Should give us an insight if you havent deleted and started fresh, i managed to revive my client a while back after it failed to send wu's by patching it.

This is the only thing I ever back up, folding at home smp, heh.

My farm should return about 3000-4000 points worth of WUs tonight, hopefully that'll help out our rank.

Did a restart as tried a few times to get it going, errors went like this
    Checkpoint rejected
    Warning: long 1-4 interactions
    Gromacs cannot continue further.

Almost 70 % done on new one anyway.

    Grrrrreat!!

I have two of the same WU's on my P4, strange. They're both worth 682 points! :):):) and I have a 500 point on my A64.

Great job guys, Guru3D is going to be flying through the ranks now! :D

Points? How do you tell how many points one is worth? I'm working on one now that's 500,000 steps. Are they different sizes? It seems like my tablet had one that was only in the thousands.

Thanks Billabong. My single core systems have turned in some WUs, and my C2D is ~80% done with a big SMP number.

Muh Fuh! I put Windows back to a previous restore point, and had to reload the software. It's not working properly now, so I plan to uninstall and reinstall, but I don't want to lose the work I've done so far. The directory was still in place and files that appeared to be work logs are still there, but I'm not sure. Is it possible to reinstall the SMP client and still have it point to previous work? I'll be Googling this in a minute, but if you've been through this before, please help.

You probably messed up the WU's Checkpoint. You will have to re-install it now.

You can recover it, well maybe not but you can try.

make a copy of the whole SMP client folder elsewhere, now delete the original and reboot until it removes the smpd.exe from the task manager, now download and reinstall (I recommend cleaning out the registry to) and copy and paste the files excluding the .exe from the original clients folder and run the install bat and reboot, and try again.

    Good luck.
