GUYS!!! We went from ranking @ 290 to 331!!! We should be going down, not up!! I think alot of you are quiting which is the reason why. I know me, Billabong, AirCool, (IRE)Wolfman and Gaboou are still folding. We're the Guru of 3D!! Let's get up there. ;)

My folding computer is in shambles. I'm working to get it back up and running ASAP.

I went from a P4 (670) EE @3.8GHz to a C2D @3.0GHz and dang if it doesn't seem like this new CPU is slower at this sort of thing. I'm mostly doing Seventeen or Bust, but if you give me some overclocking tips, I'll sign up.

It is probably because you were using one nonsense version and then came to this and that's why.

Possible solution: Download the SMP Client now that you have two actual cores, and run it. It is made specificly for multiple core computers, to get the most performance. You can get it here: http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html

If that doesn't work, get two of the nonsense versions and follow the instructions on the defenitive folding @ home thread to run multiple instances of it.

    Thanks,
    CrossFire.

I've been too busy lately so I hardly ever have my computer turned on at the moment. That's my excuse anyway ;)

I suppose it's possible that larger teams joined up after guru3d and have only just caught us up and passed us. Plus double_cut gave us an early boost

I need an app that would trick my video card into 3D clocks (just a full screen blank page, for a screensaver) so F@H would go faster

Leave F@H running (GPU) and then open up a game and close the game and et voila..?

It will switch back to 2D as soon as the game closes? And the game will use a lot of GPU power? (Most games now have 3D menus)

Downloading now. Seriously though, my old P4 was no joke, I'll be keeping that bad boy. Maybe I'll set up a dedicated folder? Get it? Folder? Anyway, how do I ensure that the folding credit goes to this site?

edit - installed. What's the number of the Guru team?

    2nd edit - 69411. I'm on the case.

3rd edit - should this software peg both cores? It's not even pegging the first one (and I don't have other software running other than the web browser).

Sweet!! Are you running two instances of the no nonsense version on your P4?

And are you running SMP on the E6850?

    Welcome to the team!

Yeah, it's the E6850. The program says folding@home (I got it from the link above). I don't see SMP anywhere though. Can you run multiple instances?

edit - oop, movie time. I'll be back online in a couple hours.

so you want to stop the screensaver from appearing?

you can remove it, or play a song with WMP and select the repeat mode and turn your speakers off :D
