I love how the water rolls off the screen, even in spec mode...nice touch.

 

Hmm...I think it looks pretty good for a cut down version, esp in the video's that Unstable_Hero posted. Pay for play on a demo is once again File Planet's greed in action, like the bastards DON'T already make enough damn money out of the ad infested POS site.

It's under NDA so I wouldn't be posting screenshots if I had that beta. Multiplayer will always look worse than singleplayer (Far Cry is a great example).

 

Without massive exclusives like this, that bring in thousands of people to their site the advertisers would not be there - this sounds like good business practice to me...even if I don't like it.

 

I can wait another 14 days rather than joining their sh1tty forums.

I guess it looks like **** because it's only 1,17 GB. Compressed textures etc.

 

"Not the final product".....the favorite line of apologists. I've seen plenty of betas over the last decade, and I've NEVER seen the dramatic changes that beta apologists always claim will happen.

If you seriously think that this game's graphics will fundamentally change over the next 14 days, you're likely setting yourself up for disappointment.

I'll admit, the game looks better in video; though the water effects are the only significant graphical difference I see over Battlefield 2. That's not hyperbole, just an honest evaluation.

I have NO desire whatsoever to "bash" Crysis or to see it fail. I appreciate Crytek's work, but the demo seems to be disappointing.

My opinion of the graphics is an honest, neutral evaluation of what I see, and I've been playing PC games for a little under 20 years.

Frankly, I can't stand fanboys like you, blinded by your own bias.

If the next version in 14 days looks vastly better than this, I won't hesitate to praise the accomplishments of the dev team. However, I see no reason to hide my opinion because it hurts your feelings.

 

The beta is just probably for multiplayer gameplay evaluation. Is it at balance etc.

 

Agreed, makes me feel better about trying to play the game reasonably on a 7800GT @ DX9. Thanks unstable for those videos, looks much better than those dreadful screen shots (no offence ).

Playing a game with graphics turned to maximum high gives me reason to complete it again, take in sights i would never have seen before, such as first time i played HL2 i played it on a FX5200, was playable but not eye searingly gorgeous, i got my X800XL and played through it again, it was amazing.

I plan to do the same with BioShock (just completed on my current rig) and with Crysis, just as soon as i get my next GPU.

And by the way I'm waiting for the SP demo before i hold out my absolute final judgment on the graphics.
